Canned 3/27/24, drunk 10/14/24. Batch 189. Good clarity, pinkish-tinged brass. Yellowish-tinged head immediately fizzles away. Other than the bit of acetic that seems to be present in their sours, this smells glorious. Fresh, juicy, rich, authentic watermelon for days. Some decent Brett character in there, as well. Juicy, fruity, tart. Juicy watermelon, hint of lactic and moderate acetic character with a malty texture and good attenuation. Just wish there wasn't any acetic in their beers, though it's not egregious or anything. The watermelon is about as good as it gets for fruit, though, far making up for the acetic character here. The rich maltiness also helps balance the sharper acidity.

Aromas are Brett, wet grain, pale malt and a bit of dill. Flavors are similar to nose, dill comes out more. Hints of oak and cucumber. Great balance between sweet bitter and tart and leans tart. Kind of a dill pickle beer without the salty brine. Works very well. Great idea well executed!

A nice core sour beer. Keep it simple, donโ€™t add a bunch of shit, itโ€™s just well done pure sour pitch. Beer temple ams

(Draught at Beer Temple, Amsterdam, 21 July 2024) Pale golden colour with foamy, white head. Fruity, slightly funky nose with notes of citrus, oak wood and peaches. Fruity, tart taste with oak wood, citrus, peaches, grass, hay, funky yeast and barnyard. Low bitterness. Medium body, dry. Fresh, tart and tasty. Very nice.

Very light, with a modest grainy sweetness and subtle notes of white grape and oak on the back end. Finishes somewhat bland, with a slight yeast fruitiness in the fade. Decent.

Barrique as fantastic as ever, could have sworn I had this one before but maybe a lost check-in. Funk and watermelon blended so well. Gnarly fun nose.

Canned 10/3/23, drunk 9/23/24. Clear, blonde-brass-golden. Medium-sized, white head quickly to cover. Moderate, almost juicy oak bursts forth from the can with a touch of spicy dill and pickle character on the very end. Excellent, sulfury minerality. The dill-like character works its way more in to the nose and I appreciate that it's the dill character and not just some salty vinegar note. Dill seems just as interesting a spice to use in a sour as any other. Doesn't feel novel or silly. Lean, well-structured malts add biscuit and seem nicely attenuated. Big oak character recedes quickly. Bright and floral with deep malts yielding big honey and white bread. Oak structure keeps it mostly balanced, alongside the acidity and spicy dill character. Rich and flavorful, pretty well balanced, though could perhaps be a shade more dry. I like their culture, though it produces light acetic which can be a bit much at times. Very unique and well-done for a challenging ingredient.
