I like some of FX Matt’s beers quite a bit but am not a big fan of the Pete’s Wicked line. Sampled from a 12 oz brown bottle this beer pours a light copper color with a trace of a white head that faded quickly. The aroma is light sour malts and an odd strawberry scent. The flavor is moderate strawberry and crappy lager. Really this is just a basic beer with some strawberry added. Thankfully the strawberry was less artificial than I expected and for a fruit beer it was not overly sweet.

Pour is a clear yellow with a fizzy white head. I can hear the fizz from across the room. I can also smell the berry aroma from across the room as well. When held up to the nose the berry scent is almost overwhelming. Flavor is pretty bland which is suprising when comparied to the strong aroma. Overall nothing to go out and find but it did refresh on a hot summer night.

Looks very macro-brewery-ish. Pretty light with bright white head that quickly goes away. Taste is hard to pin down and not very well developed... lemon is there as is very mild hops and some wheaty malt that seems a little watered down...

Very mild sour cranberry aroma. Yellow. Flavor is sour, and primarily wheat. Very little fruit. I wouldn’t know this was a fruit beer.

(Bottle 35,5 cl) With a name like that you keep your expectations high. Of a wickedly strong and ful-flavoured beer. And the name has been notorious amongst beer-enthusiasts for ages. Well, I guess it’s mainly due to the fact, that this was one of the first successful US microbrews. Regarded by it’s effort as a beer this is rather peaceful. Dark brown, perhaps slightly copperish, neat and decent head. Soft and lightly sweet nut-character without much bitterness. A very pleasant beer outdoors on a warm night in Greenwich Village.

Bottle Pours a very clear light golden with a small active fizzy white head that quickly dissipates to a thin ring. Very thin but persistant lacing. Light fruity apple and bread aromas. Not sure I detect any strawbery here. Flavorsa re a straightforward light grain/wheat flavors. Quite bitter and sharp and I still think maybe they forgot to put the strawberry in this one. Quite lively, fizzy feel but otherwise thin and unexciting. Fairly bitter trailer. Dissapointing. This is a fruit beer?

Mild lager aroma. Gold. Hop flavor with low bitterness. Not as good as a bitter, a step up from a standard lager. Sour and pleasant finish.

Crystal clear golden coloured body with a nice white head. Aroma of fake sugars, cardboard, pale malt and some stale malt-not pleasant. Light-bodied; Odd flavour up front showing malt, some caster sugar and some light hops-nothing strong in any genre. Aftertaste is mild and bland-not giving up much from anywhere. Overall, a fairly bad beer, since it doesnt show much, but isn’t too offensive at all. I sampled this twelve ounce bottle purchased from Norm’s in Vienna, Virginia on 14-November-2004 with Jon[R888710].

Bottle Pours a clear light amber witha very large foamy of white head. Lots of thick blocky lacing. Aroma is soft and of sweet light grains, honey. Flavor has a bit of a hop bite but is of vanilla, honey, light wheat toast. Lively carbonation, somewhat watery feel, and a short lived woody aftertaste. Cream ale always sounds good but a bit dissapointed in the style again.

Straw/light amber body, thin off-white head. Beneath the toasty, earthy aroma is a rather cheap, adjuncty beer with slight hints of tangy wheat and wet hay that attempt to offset crappy corn flavors. Buying a six-pack would be shameful.
