Description
Already in 1630 a brewhouse was founded on the main square in Pfaffenhofen. The oldest Pfaffenhofen miller (ancestor of the brewing family) is mentioned in official documnts from 1776 and 1779.

Through constant expansion and quality-oriented production, the former brewhouse and later house brewery became a growing and respected brewery over the generations, which has had a significant influence on the cityscape of Pfaffenhofen since then.

Dark brown colour, good creamy brownish head. Aroma is metallic with sweet dark bread, light banana. Light-bodied, fizzy carbonation. Sweetish front some riped banana, low bitterness. Sweet with low-quality vibe.

Bottle picked up from Mayer Getränkeservice, Oberhaindlfing, nr Wolfersdorf, consumed at home whilst listening to Robert Hood - Mirror Man and cooking a Lamb Keema Saturday 28th November 2020. Pours gold with a white head, good clarity. Fairly decent beer, light hoppiness present, steady maltiness, nothing remarkable but pleasant nonetheless. Good.

500ml bottle: BB 17th Mar 2021. Drank at home after a two hour dog walk on 13th Nov 2020. Large white head sat on a cloudy dull yellow body. Aroma and taste are of lemonade, not much 'Vollbier' noticeable in there, even if they do claim 50/50. Semi-sweet, lemonade and fairly 'fizzy' too.

500ml bottle: BB 20th May 2021. Poured into my Munchner Kindl Weissbier glass at home on 23rd Oct 2020. Cloudy orange/golden lemon body, large white crown. I really enjoyed this, loads of banana esters and flavours, wheaty and a lot more interesting than I expected, slightly sweeter than a 'regular' Weissbier.

Bottle picked up from Mainburg REWE, consumed at home after returning from a very long holiday, Monday 21st September 2020. Pours cloudy lemony colour with a fast disappearing white head. It clearly states 50% Vollbier und 50% Zitronenlimonade but the latter is winning out here, which is not a bad thing as it's very refreshing. Pleasant lemony radler.

330ml bottle, slightly out of date when opened, 3rd Sep 2020. All a bit underwhelming to be honest. Light haze to the amber body, white head. Some fruitiness in the aroma and taste but it lacked 'direction', 'oomph' and 'depth'. Strangest Imperial Pale Ale I have come across so far!

Half-litre bottle, drank at home on 30th Aug 2020. Clear golden body, decent white crown. This is one of the sweetest Marzen/O'Fest biers I have come across so far (this is my 70th rate of the style). Aroma and taste had a sugary/caramel front, very little hop action.

17th Aug 2020; Shrewsbury Monthly Gathering in Chez Sophie (only four of us this time). 500ml bottle: BB 12 Mar 2021. I brought this to the group. It poured a misty brown colour, the head a decent sized beige affair. Banana esters filled the nose, along with a yeasty aroma. Taste also strong on banana and yeastiness. One of the better Dunkelweizen I have so far come across.

500ml bottle @ monthly tasting, Chez Sophie, August 2020. Thanks Jeremy for this! Deep hazed brown appearance, good off-white frothy head. Aroma delivers the expected bananery aroma with some malt shades. Taste is dark bready malt with smoothly integrated banana yeast with a nice soft mouthfeel. Quite enjoyable.

Brown bottle, 33cl; BB30th Nov 2020. Drank at home on 22nd Jul 2020. poured into a vase shaped glass (Watzdorfer Brau). Clear, bright and clean golden body, on the second pour a little sediment from the bottle base gave a slight haze to the brew. white crown on top (soon to be a wisp and collar). Hoppy rather than malty in nature, crisp and fairly dry feel to it. Doesn't come across as a Kellerbier, until that second pour which allowed the yeastiness to be released by the sediment. Like two different beers really.
