Description
The Exchange is a new premium brewery and tasting room located in Niagara-on-the-Lake’s Old Town heritage district. Although the town is known as the heart of Ontario’s wine country, it is also the scene of a burgeoning craft-brewing industry. With brewing and agricultural roots that stretch back to the late 1700s, Niagara-on-the-Lake is the perfect home for The Exchange’s approach to brewing, which blends traditional and modern techniques and equipment.
We focus on making exceptional craft beers using only the highest quality ingredients, including local Niagara fruits. Our selection includes a range of American styles along with sour and funky Belgian-style beers and ales.

A lot of wine in his like a soup kitchen line up. Amber pour with a decent lacin. A slight bretta vibe, but not much here other than wine must. Tap at Bar Hop.

750mL bottle, pours a cloudy opaque orange with a small white head. Aroma brings out farmhouse yeast, earthy rye, and light spiciness. Flavour is very spicy, with lots of earthiness, farmhouse yeast, and spiciness. Not picking the red wine barrels up. Spicy and earthy. Really well-rounded. Unusual in its spicy and earthy complexity. Delicious.

Cloudy, tan. Bubbly head. The first thing that comes off the nose is pretty, and some pale notes. Spicy taste, nice mellow pale malt sweetness, with brett over top of it. You get a little bit of peppery character on the tongue. Rounded, nice sweetness...is that the red wine influence? Might be. I’m liking this one. Almost reminds me of Pipaix brews back in the early 2000s.

Bottle from the brewery. Pitch black pour under a one finer slow fading mocha head. Nose has tons of roast coffee, nuts, dark chocolate and some notes of vanilla and flowers. Light molasses sweetness supports a much bigger coffee and chocolate bitterness with definite nuttiness. Mouth is full and creamy with soft carbonation and nice dry finish. Great smooth stout with a big bitter profile. 8+4/7+/4-/16

Bottle from the brewery. Slightly hazy orange amber under a slow fading one finger white head that leaves tight lace. Nose is quite dank for a session with citrus, pine and some floral notes with some earthy spice and a light caramel. Light sweet toffee leads to a slightly more pronounced bitterness and light spice. Mouth is slightly thin and sticky with average carbonation and a long lightly bitter finish. 7+/3+/7/3/14

Bottle from the brewery. Cloudy medium+ amber with a small lingering off white head leaving patchy lace. Nose is light roast under a moderate citrus and pine. Even once the head fades the nose is quite muted. Light malt sweetness leads to a decent bitterness but like the nose nothing stands out. Mouth is medium slick with average carbonation and a relatively long finish. Nothing outstanding. 6/3+/7-/3/13

Bottle from the brewery. Pitch black with a small tight lingering khaki coloured head. Nice full nose of chocolate, yeast, wood, dark fruit, and candy along with some funk. Taste is only lightly sweet despite the candy on the nose with a medium dark chocolate bitterness and a red wine tartness. Mouth is medium and creamy with a long finish that remains quite tart. Quite interesting. 8/4/8-/3+/15
