750ml bottle from Scrattings. As Oliver's / After the Harvest La Saison des Poires Season 2020. Slightly hazy pale yellow gold colour, fizzy white foam head that quickly dissipates to a thin layer and aroma of sourish perry pear, funky & fruity. Taste is sweetish, then sour, citric rind, bretty funk, with pear, floral, some grainy hints and then salty, drying. Medium bodied, soft carbonation, dry finish. Nicely drinkable.

75cl bottle from Tom Oliver. Pours misty golden yellow, small white head, constant flow of bubbles from the base. Bit of a gusher this unfortunately. Lost about a third. Aroma is light, pillowy smooth doughy yeast. Taste is light, extremely dry, thin scuzzy carbonation, gentle mirage-like perry fruit that disappears, subtle saison yeast with a mild detectable cidery wild funk twang that suggests something other than a simple saison. Interesting experiment, but it's lacking flavour and needs a little tweaking, more pear juice, or additional juice after fermentation, more Simcoe dry-hopping perhaps. Will be interesting to see this idea develop.
