The brewery was founded in 1886 by Gustave De Ryck as ‘Brewery the Golden Eagle’ in the eastern part of Flanders in front of the church in Herzele . Herzele is not only our home base, it's the source of the typical and unique flavor you discover in our beers. We value our origine, our environment and our local market.

0.33 l bottle thanks to Bruno and Miljanica. Dark amber to brown, small off-white head. Light fruity aroma, dried fruit, tart fruit. Flavour is molasses, brown sugar, dried fruit, candy. Very light sweetness, some spice. Medium body, flat, abrupt finish.

(Bottle, 0.75l - BBE 2023, from Speciaalbierpakket, 20230106) The beer poured golden and clear. Its head was medium sized and white. Aroma had grain, honey, malts and Belgian style yeast. Palate was medium bodied with medium carbonation. Flavours were fruitiness, grass, honey, Belgian style yeast, malts and bitterness. Aftertaste had grass, malts, fruitiness and bitterness. A tasty and balanced brew with aromatic yeast.

Bottle at The Monk Brugge. Hazy dirty gold colour. lasting white head. Some white pepper hop aroma. Slightly musty in the mouth herb maybe. then settles down into a blond Belgian. bitter finish. bit of perfume herb continues. not unpleasant just different. weird . buy OK. herb puts me off
