Old rating from 2002 - Pint from the tap at the brewpub. Pours hazy gold with a white head. Aromas & tastes of flora, citrus, pine, hops & malt. Medium body. Moderate bitter finish

Deep dark brown coloured body with a thin, single centimetre tall off-white head that fades fast, but the toasted marshmallow garnish on top looks and smells fantastic - interesting for me to say that, but somehow it works. Aroma of sugars, vanilla, lactose, roasted malt, earth and a ton of roasted malt and oatmeal - very strong. Full-bodied; Rich vanilla and super sweet flavours show at first with some molasses and grainy notes, but the lactose, light coffee, chocolate and especially pure vanilla and marshmallow notes are the strongest, in a good wa. Aftertaste shows some richness rom the malt of course with a ton of nutty and earthy notes, but a lot of sugars that are somehow not cloying. Overall, a nice and very robust beer, especially with the toasted marshmallow garnish, but this works out quite well and hits nicely without being cloying or overly pungent, but of course still packs a punch. I sampled this ten ounce pour on draught at San Francisco Brewery here in Fisherman's Wharf in San Francisco, California on 10-March-2022 for US$9,00 sampled while here in town one more time.

Rich orange and very hazy golden and bright orange coloured body with a thinnish single centimetre tall off-white head that fades quickly and leaves just about nothing up top. Aroma of citrus, pure oranges, grass and a bit of flowers, but the sweetness from the oranges and possibly the curacao is strongest, in a great way. Medium-bodied; Rich orange and citrusey flavours show at first with a ton of crispness and a dry bite from the malts, but only a touch of sugars on the end. Aftertaste brings out some of the richness afforded to the malts here with an almost marshmallow, vanilla and lactosey bite, but showing only a touch of the malt flavours and a tiny bit of bitterness from the alpha acids here. Overall, a nice, rich and super citrusey beer that shows nicely through the acidic scents and flavours, but perhaps a touch cloying at the end, especially in terms of drinkability, with this not going down so easily, but at least packed with flavour! Can for my 50th bday from my 7 year old! Pours clear golden with a small white head that leaves a collar of small bubbles. Aroma is grainy and a bit of corn. White bread flavor and strong sweetness. This is a good example of the style.

From can to glass. Pine and citrusy hops with malt sweetness. Pours slightly hazed yellow with white head that fades to a collar. Grapefruit and grassy on the flavor. As it warmed, astringencies came out in the back half of the flavor.

Can to pint glass. Fruity and wheat aroma. Murky yellow with full, retained white head. Taste is orange.
