Dark brown. Aroma is cactusy, chocolatey. On the palate, it's got good body. Similarly chocolatey, really nice bit of cactus to it. The barrel is very well-integrated. Very good.

473mL can, pours black with a small beige head. Nose has a complex mezcal barrel character upfront, with a solid toasted malt base. Flavour has quite a unique mezcal barrel character—very herbal, somewhat spicy—with strong enough malt support to hold it together. Really nice, unique mezcal expression. The ABV burn is there but reasonably expressed. Unique—I love the barrel expression here.

Poured from 473mL can. Very dark brown with small beige head. Nutty, woody mezcal barrel, medium roast malts. Would like a touch more from the base, but the barrel character is very nice.

473mL can. Pours black with a minimal white head. Roasted malts and a floral mezcal character on the nose. Flavour has a really interesting mezcal character, very floral, a touch of smoke, some hot booziness on the finish; the malts are decent, but they're really there to support the barrels. Very nicely done.

On tap at Lagerbar Hercules, pours s clear blonde with a large white head. Aroma has notes of corn, straw, and biscuity malt. Flavour is clean, with notes of straw and biscuity malt. Clean and drinkable but uninteresting.

On tap at Tienda de Cerveza Hércules, pours a clear amber with a medium beige head. Aroma brings out resinous hops, pine, and toasted bready malt. Flavour is full of oily resinous hops, some pine, and lightly sweet bready malt. Great balance, well-hopped. Excellent.

On tap at Doble Malta, pours a clear pale yellow with a small white head. Aroma is full of oily resins, pungent pine, and some sweet biscuity malt. Flavour is pungent, with intense resinous and piney hops, some citrus peel, and perfectly balanced sweet biscuity malt. Phenomenal hop expression and expertly balanced for such a tempermental style. This is up there with the great WC triple IPAs in the US.
