Bottle at home - gift from friend Hmm. Hope I'm rating the right beer. The label and description are completely different to what is listed here. However, the beer is a better match to what's already here, than the info on my bottle ! It certainly doesn’t match it’s name. It is most certainly NOT the darkest beer I’ve ever drunk. Pours a rich ruby red with a transient white head. In the mouth there is a contest between sharpness and fruitiness, including strawberries and cherries. The fruits win out at the finish

Cask. King’s Arms, Cartmel. Clear gold. Tight white head. Fully lacing. Nose has runny honey. Floral hop. Bit of lavender. Clean grain. Taste is fairly bitter, with a less than expected sweetness. Light body. Quite refreshing really. Fine, bright carbonation. A touch drying. Lingering bitterness to finish. Not normally a fan of honey in low ABV beer, but this is pretty good.

Can from Sheep-ish, Keswick. Certainly lager style, certainly ale textured, it's a golden hazed beer with a small head. For a Koln styled beer it doesn't really taste like Kolsch, but that's not necessarily a a bad thing! Fairly tasty. due in part to a smoothness in the palate.

Can from Sheep-ish, Keswick. Golden with a small carbonation. Clean tasting with the jasmine influence light but evident amongst a pleasant mildly sweet hoppiness.

Chelmsfaaarhd winter beer festival. Cask in KEGS. Bright clear gold beer, small white head. Light palate, dry, modest fine carbonation. Thin and dry pale malts, not sweet. Wishy washy citrus. Light dry finish. Clean but bland and very dry.

Cask @ Chelmsford Beer Festival. Nice head with good duration. Color is golden. Aroma and taste are fruits, flowers, malt and hops. Sweet finish.

Cask at the 2018 Chelmsford & Mid Essex Beer & Cider Festival. Pours attractive ruby brown with a small lasting bubbly beside head. Aroma of malt, toffee, hop, nut and dried fruits. Medium sweetness, moderate bitterness. Medium body, slight watery texture, soft carbonation.
