Description
Fallen Angel Brewery was established in East Sussex in 2004 and soon became popular with its unique chilli ales and ciders. Combining the well documented benefits of beer with the nutritional benefits of chilli’s, including boosting circulation, improving heart health and lowering cholesterol not to mention the endorphin rush. Fallen Angel became widely known across the chilli fraternity and beer enthusiasts. It’s tagline being “modern ales- brewed traditionally”, the brewery continued to experiment and expand its range.

In 2012 the brewery closed, and moved to the East of England following a takeover by Broxbourne Brewery which also became the home of Fallen Angel beers. Commenced brewing as Broxbourne Brewery in March 2013, including some Fallen Angel beers. In 2015 the Brewery moved to Essex and the name reverted to Fallen Angel.

Beers made exclusively by Fallen Angel brewery, which were rated and believed discontinued prior to the 2012 takeover by Broxbourne are listed separately under their former East Sussex location.

Bottle at London Gathering Nov 2005. Cloudy dark brown beer with no head. Some choc malt, some lemon acids. Pretty good bitter, but just ok. Expected more intense NZ hops from the name of it to be honest

50cl bottle from the brewery. Blak beer with lasting thick tight beige head. Hedgerow frit and berb aroma, honey and hops. Full in mouth with nice black fruits, some hop. Could do with a tad longer finish. Alcohol doesn’t overwhelm it. Quite light and lithe instead of heavy and ark. Nice. Good dark bitter choc finish with more honey. Finish is drying . I rather like this.

Angry Ox Bitter from Fallen Angel Brewery

500ml bottle from the brewery. Deep russet colour with thin beige head. Some red berry malt and some nice mellow hop on the aromas. A tad sweet in mouth (maybe from the alcohol content) with good malts and then tangy hop on end.
