Deep robust amber, bronze and copper coloured body with a hint of brown and a thick, five centimetre tall tan head - beautiful! Aroma of fresh hops, earth, malt, apples, pears and a touch of metal - not so much hops though. Medium-bodied; Strong malty flavour with a hint of alcohol, some light fruitiness with a lot of caramel and toffee sweetness and a hint of earthy and herbal hops - not much at all though. Overall, a decent beer - more malt than hops and showing some good complexity from fruit and sugars more than hops. Nice to try, but not as good as I had hoped bringing it back home. I sampled this 65 cL bottle purchased from Belmont Station in Portland, Oregon on 12-April-2013 for US$4.15 sampled at home on the Eastern Shore of Virginia on 15-June-2013.

Share courtesy of MikeJslc. It pours with a clear copper body that supports a white head of foam. The aroma offers up some sweetness, malts, biscuit malt, a bit of sweet orange hard candy and faint resiny hoppiness. The taste has a resiny hop character and seems to lack hop depth and flavor which prevents it from tying in with the various malt notes. I get a bit of esteriness here and there too as a bit of grapefruit citrus notes pop up near the finish. This seems disjointed.

Sample from tap at the Growler Guys, Bend, 23/05/13. Very dark mahogony brown with a decent sized tan head, Nose is chocolate, sweet sugars, roast malt. Taste comprises light wood, bitter chocolate, roast malt, biscuit, sugars. Medium bodied with bte, fine carbonation, bitter roast in a sweet finish. Ok fayre - could do with the sweetness tempering a little as comes across as a doube digit imperial in this respect.

Woodshed 2.0. Bottle share courtesy of Sparky. It pours with a mahogany looking body that supports a tan head of foam. The aroma offers up vanilla, fudge and cinnamon all mixing together. Smells pretty nice. The taste is similar with brownie and fudge as well as molasses mixed with a mild degree of cinnamon like spiciness. Yummy.

Pour is a clear brown with a large tan head. Aroma is of some sweet malt. Flavor is again a nice sweet malt with some butterscotch and green tea. Finish leaves quickly but leaves a nice sweetness on the tounge. Better than average amber with a heavier mouthfeel than most others.
