Established in 1983
The brewery began life in 1983 and was the first microbrewery in the area and the forerunner to many others that have opened since. The brewery has a 20 barrel plant brewing over 5,000 pints per brew.

14/3/2019. Cask at the Leicester Beer Festival 2019. Pours amber brown with a small off-white head. Aroma of grain, citrus, hops and light caramel. Medium sweetness, moderate bitterness. Moderate body, slight oily texture, soft carbonation.

Gravity cask at the Leicester Beer Festival 2019. Chocolate brown, cloudy, almost completely flat. Woody aroma with brandied plum, caramel. Sweet chewy taste with plummy notes in the finish. Lovely. Nice to finally make its acquaintance.

23/2/2019. Cask at the Great British Winter Beer Festival 2019, Norwich. 12.0% abv. Pours almost black with a bubbly beige head. Aroma of roasted malt, chocolate, dark fruit, Christmas cake, light Christmas spices and light liquorice. Moderate sweetness, medium bitterness. Medium to full body, sticky texture, soft carbonation. Sticky, chocolate, cakey finish. Very good, best we had at the festival.

Cask at the Leicester Beer Festival, 2018. Pours bronze with a small bubbly off-white head. Aroma of spruce, orange, dried fruits, malt and toffee. Medium sweetness and bitterness. Full body, oily texture, soft carbonation.

Cask gravity at White Cliffs BF 2018. Deep ruby colour no head. Strongish syrupy malty beer. Yes syrupy malty. Not much hop but fine. Some sweet jammy fruit.

On cask at Peterborough Camra Beer & Cider Festival. ABV stated at 12.3%. Pours very dark murky brown with little head. Aroma of christmas pudding, dried fruits, heavy malts, chocolate, alcohol. On the taste there is notes of rum, port, burnt sugar, licquorice. Big sweet boozy finish. Medium to heavy bodied. A decent & appropriate nightcap

Cask at the Peterborough beer Festival 2017. A clear brunt orange amber coloured pour with a a fleeting off white head. Aroma is rich earthy honey, burnt toffee green berry,. Flavour is composed of medium sweet, earthy honey, toffee, green veg,. Palate is si sweet, tangy, lowish carbonation. Meh.

Aroma is moderate malty, caramel, pale malt. Flavor is moderate sweet and light bitter with a average to long duration, sweet malt, caramel.
