440ml can. Opaque, quasi black colour with minimally late awakening, average, thick, firm, forthy to creamy, osteoporosing, resettling, moderately lacing, tan head. Roasty and slightly chocolately, dark malty and herbal, citrusy fruity, hoppy aroma, notes of dark chocolate, some coffee and liquorice, lemon, orange, a touch of lime, woodruff, menthol. Taste is sweet-ish, roasty, slightly chocolately, dark and minimally caramel malty, citrusy fruity and slightly herbal hoppy, hints of dark chocolate, coffee, roasted coffee beans, some orange, orange flavoured chocolate, a touch of caramel, lemon, lime, menthol; liquorice overtones. Minimally creamy and oily texture, smooth and soft, minimally greasy palate, very fine, dense, creamy, mildly prickly carbonation. Very nice composition, excellent mouthfeel - virtually magnificent.

Voor Nederlandse begrippen is dit een prima pastry stout. En helemaal voor Hooglander, had mij echt wel dikker gemogen, maar al met al, ok en helemaal na een avondje pils 4-

Clear dark brown beer, small creamy beige head, a little stable, non adhesive. Aroma: lots of alcohol, oxidised, a bit roasted, cognac, caramel. MF: soft carbon, medium to full body. Taste: good roast, alcohol, bitter, lots of dark chocolate, more alcohol, yeasty, banana. Aftertaste: caramel, alcohol, chocolate, coffee, sweet touch, more alcohol, cognac, ripe banana, bitter finish, more chocolate, very nice!

33cl Blik van Katjeskelder park shop. Zwarte kleur met veel koffieprut, beige kraag. Chocolade, koffie, gebrande mout, pinda's, mokka, alles mooi in balans, bittere finish. Medium body, zacht mondgevoel. Prima bier.

Blik thuis geprobeerd met Roelzie. Het is een diep donkerbruin tot zwart bier met een medium bruine schuimkraag. Het heeft een aroma van gebrande mout, vanille en kers? De smaak is vol, gedroogd fruit, kersen, whisky, koffie en gebrande mout.
