473mL can, pours black with a small tan head. Aroma has toasted malt, oats, and a touch of dusty cocoa powder. Flavour is dry, with plenty of oats, dry cocoa powder, and toasted malts. Not a deep malt base, but it’s dry and drinkable. It’s okay.

Hazy, dull colour but a fairly thick head. Some floral hops. On the palate, that rye chewiness comes in initially, then some stone fruit hop, but just as quickly the beer disappears. There's not much bitterness and the hop aromatics seem to vanish into thin air as well.

473mL can. Pours clear amber-brown with a beige head. Caramel malts, toffee, and a bit of resin on the nose. Flavour is fairly dry, very bready malt character, plenty of hops, nice touch of yeast as well. Not the most complex strong ale, but I like this.

Dullish hazy pale, with a medium head. Yeasty, slightly grassy aroma. Similar palate, with a moderate bitterness and again a grassy hop note. The malts are a bit on the sticky side, but not as bad as some other beers trying to take on this style. It's certainly not what you'd call a high end example, at least in the Franconian interpretation. The label alludes to Switzerland, though, so maybe it's more aligned with whatever a Swiss landbier is.

Vibe. I remember back when I coined the term American Strong Ale, I was thinking of how to categorize stuff like Arrogant Bastard on Ratebeer, versus the likes of Fuller's 1845 and that sort of thing. The intense hoppiness was a key distinguishing factor (we later added experimentation, like DFH Raison d'Etre). So when I drink this, I get the big US bitterness, some English yeast character, a bit of both and a bit of neither.
Dark amber, with some haze to it. Aroma has some nice crystal malt chewiness with old school hop - maybe even goldings on this. Lemony notes, toffee...let's put it this way, the structure is the best of both worlds. The reality is that the malt base, hop richness and yeast subtlety are not worldly at any point, but this concept is the shit. And while this pushes the boundaries of what Yukon Brewing can do, this idea has legs for me, and Yukon Brewing did it first.

473ml can. Pours an opaque dark brown, almost black with a medium, foamy, long lasting, beige head that leaves soapy curtains of lace. Aroma of roasted malt, dark chocolate, tobacco and coffee. Sweet flavour of roasted malt, cherry, dark chocolate, vanilla, oats and coffee in a dry, mild bitter finish. Medium body with a slightly creamy, smooth texture and soft carbonation. A little sweet, but tasty.

473ml can. Pours a clear gold with a medium, frothy, long lasting, white head that leaves thick patches of soapy lace. Aroma of crackery pale malt, lemon and floral hops. Sweet fruity flavour of crackery pale malt, grapefruit, pineapple, mango and light piney hops in a crisp, dry, mild bitter finish. Light body with a watery texture and average carbonation. A tropical Pilsner that almost drinks like an IPA. Clean, refreshing and crushable.
