Dark amber with a slight haze. Thin head. The aroma is quite chewy, lots of crystal malt, light pine, and an abundance of caramel. Turning back the clock with this one. On the palate, a fairly modest bitterness, lots of crystal malt, some biscuity notes as well, and a touch of caramel. Maybe berryish hop. More balanced on the palate, but definitely not in line with the brightness of modern pales (much less the hazy stuff, which is a different animal altogether). Just too chewy for me, even though it's clearly well-made and hits the mark it intends to.

650ml bottle. Pours a slightly hazy gold with a medium, foamy, long lasting, white head that laces. Mild aroma of toasted bready malt, caramel and grassy hops. Semi-sweet flavour of toasted bready malt, caramel, honey, red apple, faint lemon and grassy hops in a dry finish. Light body with an oily texture and average carbonation. Not a fan of the style, but this was pretty flavourful as far as Blondes go.

Can @ Helijet. Smells of tin and vegetable hops, has a yellow body and very modest foam. Flavour is smooth with fruity lager notes, sweetness. Not bad, about standard but reasonably well made.

Bomber bottle found in Nanaimo. Pours bright orange-brown with plenty of carbonation and minimal head. Soft aroma of sweet grains, hops, maybe spruce if you're thinking right. Flavour is a very sprucy bunch of hops, very sweet and candy-ish with malt on the back end. Full enough on the finish but in a sugary way. Not the best spruce ale I've had but does the trick if you're into sweet stuff.

Modest white head, modest orange body. Aroma is modest fruity lager, okay distinction, a bit of sweetness but not too heavy, leaning toward peach juice. Flavour is modest grain, slightly fruity, some sweetness. Medium finish and good oiliness. Not a bad blonde, though I've said that before and have gotten severely burned.

Bottle from Liquor Depot Edmonton. Clear dark copper under a small lingering off white head leaving tight lace. Nose has some caramel with lots of pine, grass, and some floral notes. Light sweet malts support a medium+ pine bitterness. Mouth is medium slick with average carbonation and a long bitter finish. 8/4/7+/3 /15

650ml bottle. Pours a hazy orange-copper with a large, foamy, long lasting, off-white head that leaves curtains of lace. Sweet aroma of bready malt, caramel, blood orange, grapefruit, muddled tropical fruit and pine needles. Sweet fruity flavour of bready malt, caramel, mango, papaya, grapefruit, tangerine, blood orange and pine resin in a dry, bitter hop finish. Medium body with an oily texture and average carbonation. Very malty and has some dankness to it. Decent.

Very black body but minimal head. Soft swampy stout on the nose, some cabbage, some axel grease. Flavour is big and strong barley with motor oil, bitumen, tar, and licorice. Nice and oily on the mouth, big flavour and a punch to the stomach. In other words, a pretty good porter.

Can at Shelter in Tofino, pours a clear pale blonde with a small white head. Aroma is tame, with biscuity malt, light corn and some herbal notes. Flavour is light, with straw, light hopping and biscuity malt. Clean but standard and boring. Meh.
