Description
As a young man, I was always fascinated with beer… but unlike some of my friends I was more interested in quality instead of quantity!
Growing up in Belgium, I was lucky enough to have a number of local bottle shops and pubs, all stocking a range of traditional beers for me to try… and try I did! Over the years grew to appreciate the complex flavours and aromas of Belgian beers, and would often visit Breweries to discuss brewing methods with experienced brewers.

But when I was 21 i moved to England, and was surprised with the lack of availability of Belgian beers, nor could I find the flavours I was looking for in the traditional English ales. This left me just one option…Learn to make my own!
Roll on a number of years, and the opportunity arose to rent a small brewery near to my home in Hertfordshire. I partnered up with a close friend, and overnight The Belgian Brewer became a reality!
Now you too can enjoy top quality Belgian Style Beers, brewed to traditional belgium methods, here in the UK.

27th March 2024 Gonna assume this 6.5% brew that presents itself merely as 'Pinot' on the front label. The back label gives no further clues as to the style this might be but does allude well to how it tastes and what foods you might want to pair with. It's a bright clear pink tinged apricot colour beer, small pale apricot colour head. Light thin and fairly dry palate, decent superfine minerally carbonation. The malts are thin to the point of being tasteless, but I think they may be imparting some sublimal sweetness. The barrelling aspect here is pretty darn tasty, mildly tart red and black berry winey fruits. Touch of pine. Fairly light and dry finish, some wheat beer sweetness and esters coming into subtle play. Hmm! Take the barrelling and apply it to a base beer that isn't bordering on fresh air and you may have a winner. As it is, a nice light unsophisticated wine delivery system. Nicely winey

Hazy amber beer, small pale tan head. Smooth palate, quite light, reasonable fine carbonation. Smooth malts, pretty sweet caramel and cream. Bountiful esters, sweet bubblegum and sweet floral fruits. Light finish. A very sweet Belgian affair, too sweet to be that drinkalble for me.

Bottle ordered from Beer Shop HQ, St Albans. Aroma is fruity before developing a liqourice streak. Dark brown. Red tinge. Foamy beige head starts off lively before scarpering. The flava has sour berries and vinous notes. Laterally coffee and liquorice appear although the sourness is the most prominent element still. Light-medium bodied. Slick. Red wine pithy feel. Long dry astringent finish.

Bottle thanks to Grumbo: Poured a burgundy brown with a huge pinkish head that dissipated fast. Aroma is berry, cherry, seedy, malts. Taste is dark black cherries, malty, yeasty, light sweet and tart action. Seeing how this bottle gushed to the point that only half the bottle was left I figured it would be an infected undrinkable, I was wrong.
