Poured from 500mL bottle (Beer Mongers 15th Anniversary edition). Clear-ish amber gold with off white head. Lots of brett upfront, fairly dry, some feint floral citrusy notes in the background. Quite nice.

Poured from 473mL can (pkg 11/07/24). Chestnut brown with small beige head. Saison yeast, touch of cacao nibs, a little bit timid, could go further, but okay.

Can. Slightly hazy golden beer with a big whitish head. Citrus and yeast aroma with spice. Yeast and spice flavor with grapefruit. Medium bodied. Yeast and spice linger with grapefruit and light summer fruit.

On tap at The Beer Mongers, pours a cloudy golden with a small white head. Aroma has gentle nectarine upfront, rustic saison yeast, toasted grains, and cereal malt. Flavour is dry, with fermented out stone fruits, rustic saison yeast, and cereal grains. Dry, rustic, not that fruity on the finish. Pleasant.

From tap at De Molen during Borefts ’15. Aroma of fruits, citrus, some yeasty notes, floral, hoppy notes. Flavour is lightly sweet and moderate to medium bitter. Body is medium. Not big on Saison funky yeast, but it has a refreshing bitter fruity hoppy character. Very nice.

From tap at De Molen during Borefts ’15. Aroma of fruits, citrus, yeast, floral notes. Flavour is light sweet with a light to moderate bitter finish. Body is light to medium. This one won’t win any awards for character or complexity, but it’s a pleasant light refreshing Saison that goes down well on a summer day.

From tap at Upright, Portland. Aroma is oak, bretty funk, tart fruits, apricot, very dry, hint of vanilla, red fruits. Light sweet and above moderate sour with a very dry finish. Body is medium. Very oaky and complex, delicious.

From tap at Upright, Portland. Aroma is Saison-ish Belgian yeast (almost a champagne yeast), bubblegum, soft pale malt, with modest tropical fruity hops. Flavour is sweetish and mildly bitter. Well, this is a ’different’ IPA with Saison characteristics. Interesting and enjoyable.

Bottle, 2016 vintage, from Upright, Portland. Aroma is rich malt, caramel, Bretty barnyard funk, overripe fruits, vinous, tart berries, wood, raisins, with notes of red wine. Flavour is tart and medium sour with a dry finish. Body is medium. Nice and fairly complex oaky Bretty Old Ale, good tart sour flavour.
