Sampled at the 2nd annual Michigan Winter Beer Festival, Lansing. Hazy orange body with a tiny off-white head. Spicy body with an almost cloying sweetness, dominated by tropical fruit esters (pineapple, banana) and bready malt. Alcohol apparent in the finish.

Sampled at the 2nd annual Michigan Winter Beer Festival, Lansing. From the pils side of things, there wasn’t much going on in the hops department. On the other hand, I really liked the heft of the bready, caramely, fruity malt paired with the boozy bourbon notes. Out of character for a pilsener, though.

Pretty much black. Roasty, slightly nutty aroma. Thinnish body. Some roasted character. Slightly tart from the black malt. Coffeeish notes in the finish.
