7.1/10 โ€” Appearance 8 Aroma 6 Flavor 7 Texture 8 Overall 7.5
On tap at Crucible, pours a deep dark reddish brown with a small tan head. Aroma brings out dry toasted malt, not much else, maybe some earthy coffee grounds. Flavour is along the same lines but more dominant, with robust toasted malt, a touch of dry cocoa and some earthy notes. Robust and well-balanced. Very good.

On tap at Crucible, pours a clear pale golden yellow with a small white head. Aroma is extremely fruity, with lots of stone fruits and floral, resinous hops. Flavour is similar, with a very stone fruity hop character. Not getting any oat presence, but regardless, this is nice stuff.

On tap at Crucible, pours a fairly clear golden yellow with a small white head. Aroma is fairly fruity, with some floral notes. Flavour is along the same lines, with lots of fruitiness, floral hops and toasted biscuity malt. Nicely expressive for a pale, with a solid balance. Good stuff.

A little disappointed that I am trying this before the non barreled version, but thatโ€™s okay. I know where they hang out. Draft pour at Hop and Hound, left over from brewers night. Looks like I missed a great night, but glad some beers survived to tonight. Copper pour with not much head. A sweet yet bold brown sugar aroma. Quite pleasant. The flavor seemed off for me at first, but as this warms a bit, the dark fruit, brown sugar, raisin, and caramel flavors all come out and present nicely. Has a doughy remainder that is quiet and not off putting. Slightly rich, but not enough to bother. Smooth bourbon notes without being boozy tasting, and a comfortable warming to it. Very impressed with this beer. I love to see barrel aged beers that are a little different in style and in overall flavor. Well executed barrel aged offering here.

Draft pour at Crucible. Golden orange pour with a fading fizz head. Aroma is both sweet and harsh with the hop content. Flavor has a sweet mango, mixed tropical fruit, and a hop bitter that really creeps up on you. Has a strong bite up front, but doesnโ€™t comes off as overly strong in the abv department. Enjoyable imperial here. A pint of this would probably be all I need for a day though.

Draft pour to a schooner at Crucible. Pours a dark and dense brown with a thin film head. Canโ€™t say Iโ€™ve ever seen a saison that looked like this. Brown ale with saison yeast. Love the expirimental side of this. Bold malt aroma. Flavor is sweet up front, with a slight metallic side. Rich. Has a doughy malt side that irritates a bit. Overall too rich and sweet. Fun experiement. Needs work.

Draft 8 oz pour at Crucible. Presented on cask much to my surprise. By far the most intriguing offering on their list, with tough competition. Pours a golden orange with a swirling head. Aroma is dominant pepper without the heat. Flavor matches. Its all jalepeno flavor with almost no heat to it. Makes.for a refreshing saison-ish beer here. A cool.fruit to hide behind the pepper. I love the pepper beers. Its almost unfair.

Draft pour at The Collective, listed as Crucible Tyrannasour Razz. Hopefully one day I can fix these myself. Pours a glowing cloudy pink color with a thin fizz head. Big candy raspberry aroma. Flavor is sweet mixed berry, soft wheat, and a red raspberry finish. Sourness is most dominant up front, then sweetens out. Sourness 6/10. Lingering fruit reminder. Very nice.
