"Founded in the summer of 2011 in Beijing, Slowboat has gradually developed from a pilot brewery located in the mountains on the outskirts of Beijing to one of the pioneering brands in the field of craft beer in ChinaHe has won many awards in the competition. As of 2024, Slowboat has five offline stores - Sanlitun Brewery, Maizidian Brewery, Dengshikou Dining Bar, Baita Temple Dining Bar, and Shichahai Dining Bar. Very malty and subdued for a red IPA. Much more like an amber ale. Hops need to be cranked for this beer.

Bottle at wpbf. Hazy orange color, small off-white head. Aroma has bread and resin. Medium-bodied. Resiny, fruity and bready. Doesn’t show its abv. The best Chinese beer I’ve had.

Aroma has hops with sweet, tropical fruits. Flavour has fruity hops, gluey tones, grapefruit and mellow gooseberry bush tones. Finishes with lingering hops and herbal tones. Quite good.

Bottled at Petalax Beer Festival. Hazy golden, mid sized head. Soapy grapefruit and caramel up front. Mid sweet with medium-full body and well rounded mouthfeel. Lightly fruity with grapefruit, lychee and dough. Mid bitter finish. Bready and juicy.

Bottled@wPBFIII. Amber colour, small white head. Aroma is fruity, floral, some nice nectary and sweet malty and toffeeish notes. Flavour is fruity, some sweet bready and grainy notes along with a nice honeyish and nectary aftertaste. Very nice and balanced double IPA.

Aroma is musty with some weird sugary tones. Feels like some sweet belgian ale. Flavour has strong grassy hops, herbal tones and some mint. A lot better than I expected.
