Sample pour at The Festival of Dark Arts at Fort George. Near black pour, ring of beige head. Mellow roasty aroma with a boozy nose. Taste is roasty, elements of coffee, dark chocolate, bitter, warming. Nice to take a break from all of the adjuncts.

650ml bomber. Slightly hazy orange pour, big white head. Aroma is is jalapeño potatoe chips, and soft tropical fruit with some cereals. Mouth feel is pleasant, carb is good. Finish is slightly spicy, subtle burn, and some jalapeño, and light fruit. The peppers dominant a little too much though.

Dark amber pour, big, sticky, foamy head. Aroma is dank, and dark and resinous. Intense pine resins, and a nice biscuity, bready malt base, its subtle but its there and helps to balance out the strong pine. The mouth feel is oily, and the carb is soft. The finish is at the beginning subtly bitter but then it comes on, and grabs your throat and is quite strong. The pine is ever present with hints of mint, and stone fruit. Warming alcohol bear the end with some sharp hops. Thjs tastes bigger than it is.

Bottle at home. Aroma is pale biscuity malt, herbal hops, citrus peel, orange, mild pine, hint of caramel, soft herbal notes with a touch of earthy leafs. Flavour is moderate sweet with a bitter finish that turns a bit harsh. Body is medium. Very different IPA, malty and herbal-ish with a harsh bitterness. Hardly great, but likeable.

Bottle at home. Aroma is bready malt, spicy notes, mild bretty funk, yeast, earthy hops, fruity, citrus, ripe orange, touch of caramel, mildly floral. Flavour is above moderate sweet and moderate to medium bitter. Body is medium. Surprising and unique sort of APA, very much out of the ordinary. I found it enjoyable.
