12oz can from Trader Joe's. Lightly cloudy golden pour, skin of head, some lacing. Aroma and taste are malty, caramel, offering only a hint of citrus or fruit. A pretty bad attempt at the style.

The 16 oz can of CJ Fruit Punch came home with me after a recent trip. A hot day today, still warm in the evening. Let’s get this thing started. Lift the lid and take a quick sniff, fruity and obviously sweet, any surprise on that? A drink confirms the scent. Cherry, orange, very sweet, a bit of metal and a vague sense of embarrassment for not disliking the brew. The strong abv contributes a fullness. Still way too sweet but not half bad for a one and done.

Can labeled as Boatswain Double IPA, from Trader Joe's. Pours clear dark yellow-orange with large foamy light beige head, malt aroma with faint caramel, adequate carbonation, bitter malty taste with light citrus flavor, bit of alcohol aftertaste, thin body, long bitter finish with abit of throat burn. Decent.

12oz can from Trader Joe's. Light amber pour with a short-lived fizzy head. Aroma is malty and sweet. Taste is also malty with metallic notes. Taste like you're licking the can.

What did you bring back from your vacation? Lucky me, I got a 16 oz can of Kick Axe. I’ve never had a malt liquor in anything other than the can or bottle it came in. Not changing today. Flip the tab and have a smell. I’d say it is a bit corny. A drink will sort that out. Yes, a mix of canned corn and something metallic. A touch of sweetness on the front end, maybe corn syrup or caramel. In my dreams. Not awful but not good either. There is a lot of competition out there.

I obtained my 16 oz can of CJ Watermelon at an interesting liquor store in Bermuda owned by a delightful lady. From previous experience with Minhas, my expectations are not high but that is why we do our tastings, right? I break out my tried-and-true paper ware and insert the can. The scent is watermelon kool aid and sugar. My first drink, well now, certainly better than anything Four Loko. I have to say this imitates a Jolly Rancher watermelon candy quite well. It is also fairly sweet and a bit metallic. All this and 12% too. I am pleased in a malt liquor-qualified kind of way.

This beer was inexplicably found in a cooler in a Bermudian liquor store. Didn’t read the label, thought it was a local brew. Oh well. The 12 oz can pours a clear, straw-colored liquid with a here now, gone quickly, white head. A taste, well, this is bland, even for the style. Corn, rice and water. Inoffensive at its best. But the view from the ship is quite nice.

Brown with an offf white head - Malt and dark fruity aroma - Dark malt body with soem fruity hop bitterness - The malt goes into the finish with some hops - This was nice

Dark golden with a white head - malt and hops in the aroma - malt body with some hops that has herbal notes - The herbal hop flavours goes into the finish that ends dry - This was ok

Very light, yellow color. but there is malt flavor, low hop character but the palate is ok. Drinkable cabin or lawnmower beer.
