Bottle 33 cl. pours an opaque black with a smallish, beige head. Nose is mostly sweet roast with only a hint of hops. Body is surprisingly kinda vague with soft roast and very distinct tannins from the wood. I don't really get much of an IPA feeling at all, but it is indeed an extreme beer with a very distinct booziness. 171218

Bottle 33 cl. Pours dark brown with an orange hue and a tiny, rough off-white head. Sweet, spicy and complex honey aroma. Rich, sweet body with no carbonation. A little late bitterness actually, probably a good thing to avoid this cloying up. I like this. 141218

Black color, tan head with short retention. Aroma is slightly roasty with a high presence of maple syrup. Flavor is sweet but no cloying at all, notes of black ripe fruit, light vanilla and maple syrup. Final has light notes of roasted malts, some sweetness. Dense and creamy mouthfeel. Enjoyable!!

Bottle. Color: Black, thin beige head. Aroma: Sweetish, roasted malt, vanilla, Bourbon notes. Taste: Over medium sweet, maple syrup, vanilla. Boozy Bourbon notes, very light smoke and peat hints. Roasted malt, dark and milk chocolate. Light notes of raisins and dark red fruit. Warming mouthfeel, bit sticky palate. Full body, below average carbonation. Overall ok but a bit too sweet for me, although that's no surprise because of the added maple syrup. Also lacking some complexity in my opinion. All the flavours are present but I'm missing the wow factor.

Tap at Chinaski Lavapies. Nose is peated chocolate, coffee, dried fruit. Palate is sweet and softly smokey, definitely hints of liqour. Pretty nice! So different to the Hr. Frederiksen I had side by side.
