Description
AC Golden is a small-batch brewery nestled within the walls of the Coors brewery in Golden, CO. Named in tribute to our founding brewmaster and eternal entrepreneur, Adolph Coors. The thought was to carve out a space that gave our brewers enough runway to invent, explore, and roll up their sleeves to brew exceptional beers that have a story to share. Just like Adolph Coors did back in 1873.

Admin Note: Brewery is located inside the Coors Production facility. Home of the Colorado Native Brand.

Draft. Clear golden body. Frothy white head. Slight aroma of pine, toasted grain, resin. The flavor is moderately sweet and lightly bitter. It finishes lightly sweet and lightly bitter. Thin to medium body, watery texture, lively carbonation. Looks good. Tastes like not much. Just sits there, a pale lager version of an IPA.

12 oz. bottle purchased in Frisco, Colorado. Pours a clear bronze color with an off-white head and good retention. Decent lacing. Light grain aroma. Soft mouthfeel. Light caramel and biscuit flavors with a minor yeasty finish. Very clean. Medium body. Not bad.

Sample foisted on me at ACBF. Clear, ruby color, with a small, tan head. The aroma is burnt malts, spruce, cherry wood, and pine. Sweet and yeasty, with an acrid bitterness. Light to medium body, with a syrupy, grainy mouthfeel. This is a mellow, simple, and unpleasant lager.

12 oz. bottle purchased in Frisco, Colorado. Pours a clear yellow color with a small white head and good retention. Very good lacing. Lots of streaming bubbles. Pilsner malt aroma. Soft body and mouthfeel. It has a light, soft pilsner flavor without the crisp, sharp mouthfeel. Smooth. Decent.

12 oz. bottle purchased in Frisco, Colorado. Pours a clear amber color with a tiny beige head and poor retention. Spotty lacing. Strong caramel malt aroma. Good caramel flavor, but overall not as smooth as most amber lagers. Flat mouthfeel. Medium body. Decent, but I expected better.

12 oz. bottle, found in a mix-six section in a run-down liquor store. Probably a bit old... anyway! Pours a clear, dark, yellow color, with a small, frothy, beige head. The aroma is whole grains, bubblegum, toast, and rye. Sweet and malty, with a bit of a dank bitterness. Light body, with a sticky, grainy mouthfeel. Not terribly pleasant.

Bottle thanks to Chow. Pours a cloudy amber with small off white head leaving spotty lacing. The aroma is cherry skin, oak, funk, vanilla. Thin body, tart cherry, oak, leather, vinegar, puckering sour, very good.
