Description
The Budelse Brouwerij (Budels Brewery) is a family business that still values the traditions that have guided the brewery for centuries now. It's been at the very heart of the village of Budel in Brabant since 1870. Founded 150 years ago by Gerardus Arts as Brouwerij de Hoop (the Hope Brewery). Today, the fourth generation of the Arts family is at the helm and we are just as committed to the brewing as our ancestors.

This amber comes across great. Fresh, not stale despite being shipped from Beerwulf in hot weather. Low hops. Malty and great, crystal clear red.

Big frothy off white head on a chestnut coloured still body. Malt, sweet & nutty aroma. Medium to full bodied, smooth, oily & cloying. Malt, syrup, demerara, stewed fruit & nutty tastes. A bit too sweet.

Bottle at home, light hazy golden beer, small to no head. Aroma is tart, grape, salinity like the sea, fruit, some vinegar. Taste is sweetish, tart, light salt, fruity. Not bad

Clear medium golden colour, small soapy white head, mostly diminishing, light lacing. Aroma sweet malt, grain, honey. Light taste medium sweet and light bitter, malty, grain, light caramellish, bit honey, candy sugar. Light to medium body, watery texture, thin mouthfeel, average carbonation, flat sweetbitter aftertaste, cardboard, metallic notes, so so, drinkable.

Bottle from Beerwulf. Pours a murky chestnut brown colour with a thin soapy looking beige head. Aromas of caramel, nuts and brown bread. Taste is more of the same notes again as the aroma. Medium body with a smooth and very slightly oily mouthfeel. it’s pleasant enough.

Winnaar smaaktest! Kopt het etiket. Mja, maar dan wel slechte smaak. Typische weeïge maltige moutgeur en smaak. Mout en suikerzoet. Alsof ik weer pure wort aan het drinken ben. Dit kan echt niet meer in deze tijd

Super clean, big mouthfeel, abundant sweetness yet balanced with the chewy body. Yeast driven, belgian style with lots of caramel. Online beerwulf (3.8 apr 2020) Again for bierkong ams. (June 2023) super malty sweet but i feel about the same.
