Description
The Budelse Brouwerij (Budels Brewery) is a family business that still values the traditions that have guided the brewery for centuries now. It's been at the very heart of the village of Budel in Brabant since 1870. Founded 150 years ago by Gerardus Arts as Brouwerij de Hoop (the Hope Brewery). Today, the fourth generation of the Arts family is at the helm and we are just as committed to the brewing as our ancestors.

Golden Ale - Sorachi Ace from Budelse Brouwerij

Cloudy blond appearance with lasting head. Aroma has some sweet malt and a little tropical fruit. Flavour has some lime zest. Strangely creamy but in a nice way.

Bottle @ tasting shared with Joes and Dutchdrebus. Clear orange golden color, medium sized white head. Smell and taste malts, bitterness dominant, metallic bitter. I miss fruitiness. Decent body, firm carbonation. Meh.

Bottle @ home. Clear golden color, medium to full l sized white head. Aroma is malts, a bit floral and a tad weird as is to be expected with sorachi ace. Taste malts, quite bitter, lightly tart, tart-bitter. I don't like it.

Backlog rating from 2007. Dusty nose, some diacetyl. Hazy golden, light head. Wood and metal, light herbs, a bit dust. Medium body, light sparkly mouthfeel. Herbal, wood aftertaste.

Bottle @ home. Golden colour with a small white head. Smells malty, somewhat hoppy. Taste has a harsh, glue-like bitterness with a malty finish. Kinda unpleasant to drink because of the harsh bitterness. Medium body, nice carbo.

Bottle from local supermarket @ home. Golden colour with a small white head. Smells sweet, hops, slightly fruity, slightly peachy. Tastes sweet, malty, fruity, pilsener, kinda weird. Has a weird, slightly chemical aftertaste. Medium body, nice carbo.

30cl Bottle at my faculty, back in the early 2000's. One of the first Eko-beers. Grainy, nasty, ugh. I really don't have fond memories of Budels, the Kikbier was no exception.

Flesje gedeeld door Inoven. Zeer weinig aroma. Roodbruin, helder bier. In de smaak alleen maar zoet. Geen nasmaak.
