Description
The Budelse Brouwerij (Budels Brewery) is a family business that still values the traditions that have guided the brewery for centuries now. It's been at the very heart of the village of Budel in Brabant since 1870. Founded 150 years ago by Gerardus Arts as Brouwerij de Hoop (the Hope Brewery). Today, the fourth generation of the Arts family is at the helm and we are just as committed to the brewing as our ancestors.

0.3 l bottle from 'AH XL' (Roermond), best before July 2025. Clear, very dark ruby with a few beige bubbles on top of it. Sweetish-malty, minimally fruity aroma of caramel, burnt sugar, some raisins and hints of cola. Quite sweet, malty, slightly bready, minimally fruity taste of burnt grains, bread crust, caramel, cola and some raisins, followed by a short, moderately bitter finish. Thin to medium body, gently effervescent mouthfeel, soft carbonation. Finally another Dutch Oud Bruin, I'd thought that I won't find any that are new to me. Not that it's overly tasty.

Taste like a Kvass. But without the dirt cheap price.

On tap at Havnelageret. An almost clear golden colored beer with a white head. Belgian spiced fruity aroma with a hint of grass and bready malts. It's full bodied and dry on the palate, softly carbonated and with a decent bitterness. Fruity flavor too, with a gentle malt touch and a grassy note. Some spiced yeast hints. Long finish. Pleasant. 240630

On tap at Havnelageret. A dark chestnut colored beer, clear looking beer with a creamy dark beige head. Diacetyl, toffee and dark bread in the aroma, with dark dried fruit. It's medium to full bodied, soft, sweet and lightly acidic, with malty flavors. Bread, roasted malts, dark dried fruit and toffee. A bit weird, but refreshing and sort of tasteful. 240630
