Description
Outer Range Brewing is a community-driven microbrewery in the small mountain town of Frisco, Colorado. Co-founder and Head Brewer Lee Cleghorn’s love of craft beer began when he lived in Belgium as a teenager, where the first beers he ever drank were world-class Belgian ales. That background has served as inspiration for his IPAs, which showcase the ester profile of these traditionally hop-forward beers. A graduate of the American Brewers Guild Brewing Science and Engineering school in Vermont, Lee runs Outer Range with his wife and co-founder Emily, who is the Chief Marketing Officer and leads the brewery’s branding, marketing, and sales efforts. They met while homebrewing beer together ten years ago, and today, brew for and with a passionate community who lives at the intersection of craft beer and the outdoor mountain lifestyle.

Pours a hazy, light peach-orange color, with minimal head. Aroma has a lot of citrus, some tropical fruit, some dankness. Flavor is a touch on the grassy side, some citrus, a touch of chalkiness, some pine/spruce hop bitterness in the finish.

Pours an only slightly hazy, pale golden yellow, with smallish head. Aroma has some tropical and citrus notes. Flavor follows, along with just a touch of hop bitterness in the finish. Guess I kind of expected a bit more.

Pours a very slightly hazy, pale golden yellow, with minimal head. Aroma is grassy, bready, with some spruce/pine hoppiness. Flavor follows suit. This is NOT the typical juicy NE-style IPA, unless I somehow got hold of a bad can or something. This is much more a traditional, grassy, bready, hoppy IPA. Not that that's a bad thing, mind you, but just be prepared.

Saisons aren't really my thing, but as saisons go, this isn't bad. Pours a slightly hazy, pale banana yellow, with smallish head. Aroma has some wheat esters (sour banana, etc.) and the sharp, peppery scent of the yeast. Flavor is peppery, with some sour banana, a touch of lactic acid. Tasty and refreshing.

16 oz can given to me by Alagnak. Shive On 09/06/18 printed on the bottom of the can. The pour is a hazed yellow orange with a small white head that leaves wispy lace. The aroma is clementine, tangerine fruit citrus, fresh and clean. The taste is the bright tangerine mandarin orange fruit flavor, soft cereal malt and a touch of alcohol heat. The palate is medium to light bodied, unfiltered mouth feel, dry with a touch of the citrus fruit lingering. Nicely constructed and executed beer, thanks Chris!
