[9/27/15] Draught at Hoppy Days in Amsterdam. Black with a tan head. Aroma of licorice, dark fruits. Sweet flavor with licorice, dark fruits, caramel, roast, a bit of anise, and a bitter finish. Medium to full-bodied. Kinda OK, but too licorice-y for my liking.

0.5 l bottle from De Bierkoning, clear, pale greenish yellow with a thin, soapy, slowly diminishing, white head. Fruity-grassy aroma of tangerine, lemon and hay. Sweetish, fruity-grassy taste of tangerine, lemon and hay, followed by a crisp, medium bitter and grassy finish. Thin to medium body, smooth mouthfeel, soft carbonation. Very aromatic with lovely notes of tangerine. A bit more carbonation would be nice. Good one.

On tap at Hoppy Days. Dark brown to black colour, beige head. Aroma of dark fruits, veggies, liquorice, some hops, roasted malts, nuts. Flavour is medium sweet, liquorice, dark fruits, hops, roast, bitter finish, leaves. Light to medium bodied. Not sure if it’s brewed at Gänstaller. Different.

On tap at Hoppy Days. Almost clear, dark brownish red with a medium large, fluffy, tan head. Sweetish-malty, slightly fruity aroma of dark chocolate, raspberries and nuts. Sweetish, fruity-malty taste of dark chocolate, cherries, raisins and some coffee, followed by a relatively bitter finish. Medium body, slightly creamy mouthfeel. Okay.

Bottle shared by Borresteijn, with JulienHuxley. Hazy golden blonde color. White head, short retention. Aroma’s: grain, with sweet malts, soft hops, light citrus retronasal. Flavor is moderate malty sweet, with a light bitterness. Light bodied. Finishes with a delicate bitterness. Good German Pilsner.

50cl Bottle from De Bierkoning. Abv is 5.1%. Hazy pale yellow colour, white head. Aroma of light sweet malts, lemon, light mandarin, honey, floral. Flavour is likewise, soft, smooth, subtle hoppiness. Light bodied. Soft carbonation. Good.

@ Gents bierfestival 2015. Yellow colour white foam. Medium carbonation. Sweet nose of peach and sweet malts. Bitter hoppy finish. Well balanced pilsener but still a bit watery.
