I have a 16 oz can from an order with Half Time Beverage. My glass of choice is a globe, I make the pour. The appearance is a pale gold completed by a vigorous top of snow white foam. The nose is appealing, there is peaches, grain, a hint of hops and meadow. A drink now. I have to say, this is a pretty fair beer. Apricots, plenty of hops bitterness, sweetness from the honey I assume and white bread. Close enough to be a tripel I think. The brew has a fine fullness, I appreciate that. Hope to see this one again. If I could, I'd rate the beer 8.2 but the site won't let me. It gets 8.1 instead.

Lemon, orange. honey, coriander, wheat malt, and hay aroma. Hazy pale yellow with moderate white head. Mildly sweet lemon/orange, white pepper, coriander, wheat malt, and mildly bitter orange peel and grass flavor. Good body.

16oz can from Half Time. Mahogany pour, fizzy head disappears quickly. Aroma is sweet, raisins and brown sugar. Taste follows with muted sweetness, heavier on the pit fruit and raisins. A little toasty malts as well. Finishes fast.

I'm sampling from a 16 oz can bought from an online retailer. I pulled my Buffalo Bayou tulip glass down from the cabinet, making the pour. It arrives a surprisingly clear liquid that is otherwise dark brown with a decent skim of light tan, very fine bubbles. I see an active carbonation charging the brew. The scent is purposeful with candied fruit, grain and a malty background. A drink now, well, this is pretty good. Figs, cane syrup, dark bread, malt, a toffee sweetness, raisins and yeast. The presence is fairly heavy, something I like. A strong ABV, I'm not aware of it in the drink. I always like it when a domestic brewer does a quadrupel well.

I have 16 oz can obtained from Halftime not long ago. Dubbels are generally not easy to locate in the states, happy to have this one. Using my Chimay glass this evening, a decided note of optimism. I make the pour to see a copper brown body with practically no head. There is an active carbonation though. The smell is dark fruits and bread. My first drink delivers a taste of dried figs, raisins, wood, grain, a touch of caramel and toasted bread. There is a hefty presence in the mouth and I find a decent bitterness at the end. Good representation of a style I much appreciate.

Pours a hazy amber color with a very minimal head. It smells of caramel, dark fruit, spicy yeast, and booze. It tastes sweet but not overpoweringly so. There’s caramel, dark fruit, some yeast spice, and some alcohol though the latter is pretty buried by the malt.

Draught @ Sing Sing Kill Taproom. Cloudy pinkish orange with small frothy light beige head, mild acidic aroma, adequate carbonation, medium tart taste with doughy flavor, mild bitterness, smooth body, long medium tart finish. Quite nice.

Reviewed from notes. Thanks Eric!
Poured into a thistle, the appearance was a ruddy burnt amber color with a slight transparency about it. Soft foamy two finger white head starts and slides off at a nice pace. Mild stringy lace.
The aroma had a nice blend of warming whiskey to mobile smokiness. Some earthy/peaty/grassiness comes about for balance. Soft caramel/toffee malts keep the backbone fair.
The flavor takes all of the previously mentioned aromas to bump against a sweet woodiness/somewhat herbal and then floral. Nice smooth smoky sweet malty aftertaste evenly flowing on into the finish.
On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a fair sessionability about it. Carbonation felt low, but I’m good with that considering the style doesn’t have high expectations of excessive carbonation. ABV felt appropriate.
Overall, very nicely done Scotch ale/wee heavy well worthy of having again. Now that was a treat!
