Almanac was founded in 2010 by Damian Fagan and Jesse Friedman, two avid home-brewers who bonded over their mutual appreciation for California farmers markets. They set out to brew beers inspired by California’s rich agricultural bounty. After nearly seven years of partner brewing, we moved into our very own 30,000 square-foot production & aging facility located on a historic naval airbase on Alameda Island in San Francisco Bay.

Bottle number 1707 (5/22/11) thanks to my amazing girlfriend. Pours with a hazed golden body with a fine layer of off-white foam. Really nice lacing. Aromas are very nice! Big wine notes, juicy, fruity, dark berries, dry, oak, light funk. Hoppy, lemon zest, tannic. Vanilla. Saison like esters and phenols. Very bright aroma. Flavors are lightly sour, funky, bright, spicy phenols. Brett. Very dry, and a touch peppery. Fruity, tannic, oak, berries, wine. A bit sharp in the finish. Lively bubbles, lingering tannins, well balanced. Very tasty!
