330ml can @Izykaya, Oslo. Pale golden clear body, no head. Ripe fruit, banana, citrus, some bitter notes. Quite well balanced and carbonated.

Aromas of banana, pine, orange and strawberry. The hops offset the sweetness of the orange. Nicely balanced.

First beer of the years is this Yo Ho release: Yo Ho Citrus Session IPA 2023 4.5% Crystal clear deep gold with fizzy head that doesn’t last. It has a nice citrusy hop bouquet with a silky smooth light body. Nice crisp light malts and citrusy hops. Not complex but quaffable. A solid brew as these NY beers in this series tend to be.

350ml can, drank on Christmas Eve 2022 while in Laguna Hills. Bonito Flakes? Had to google what they were! Clear pale golden body, weak white head. Dry and fairly hop bitter, strange aroma and taste; all a bit too 'Japanese' for my liking.

Pleasantly bitter and roasted. Thin mouthfeel and strongly carbonated. Great classic porter.

The nose shows moderately intense clean notes of lemon drops and Belgian yeast.

The palate is well carbonated and light bodied. Belgian yeast forward with a mild tartness and bitterness. More Belgian yeast on the finish. Missing a bit of carbonation in the mouthfeel but not bad.

Some cherry blossoms are out and so is that new Yoho beer: Yo Ho Brewing Dondabada 6% Free-style Belgian Golden Ale Crystal clear deep gold with a thick head of bright white foam that vanished fast. It’s got a perfumery floral character at first that then gives way to peppery earthy notes. Medium bodied and very very dry. This beer tastes a bit rough, earthy notes up front, white pepper with a dash of Belgian spice then some wheat notes. It’s ok but feels like it doesn’t quite come together.
