Revisited this same tap at the same location without realizing it. Oct 2024: 2.4 Clear, vibrant, mgd frothy. Grassy, herbal, medicinal hop nose. Lingering sweet caramel, leather, bitter rind, constrained bitter bite. Strong CO2, thin body, middle high acid, good pedestrian feel. Solid. June 2024: 2.8 Grrrowlers, such nice weather while watching the doggos. Almost clear, pale gold, frothy pour. Grassy, veggie, grapefruit nose. Bittergreen bite, lots of acid, slightly medicinal turning ugly sweet. Nah.

Single from Craft Beer Cellar in Dallas. Sat in a box for two months under my desk at work. Picked up & loaded into my luggage home on the next trip. A day in the fridge & into a pint glass. Moderately roasty, burnt brown sugar, heavy cream, grape skin nose. Heavy but mellow malt, 60% chocolate lush feel, fatty cream texture, slight grape & cherry acid, bittersweet, aged hops, pithy finish. Very little noticeable cherry past the bitter skin & acid. Not too sweet. Incredibly lush feel & in-check heat. Frothy & coating but not oily. Great.

Poured from the tap. Dark brown with minimal off white head. Mild burnt caramel, gentle roast, mainly comparing this to Beaus Crème Brûlée which is my most recent similar beer and it’s better. As good as you could expect for the style. Good balance.

Pounder from Lone Star. Pint glass @home. Quick soda spritz over a clear, oily gold base. Fume-y lemon-lime soda & cooked down floral strawberries on the nose. Taste is white tea, honey, lemon oil, cooked lime pith, murky cooked down green strawberry flavor that's sadly so difficult to get right in a beer. Boozy & syrupy malt liquor-like sweet headache base beer, middling tartness, mellow acid, low carb, long Aspirin finish. Started out hopeful but this isn't great.

Pounder from Lone Star. Stemless pint glass @home. Inky black pour, cookie head, lots of sediment at the bottom of the glass. Nutty, mild coffee, sweet, slightly vanilla nose. Semi-sweet, medium low acid, cola & significant chocolate, with significant bittergreen sharpness on the tail. Thick, creamy, sometimes chalky, a bit too warm. Good.

12 oz. can from HEB in Boerne, TX. Pours a crystal clear dark orange-bronze color with a khaki head and very good retention. Some spots of lacing. As expected, gingerbread cookie aroma. Strong, sweet gingerbread cookie flavor too. There's enough cinnamon in the mix to balance the gingerbread, and help hide any clove notes. Reminds me of a highly spiced pumpkin beer without the pumpkin. It's a well made novelty beer. Not for repeated consumption. Medium body and medium carbonation. Not bitter.

12 oz. can from HEB in Boerne, TX. Pours a hazy gold color with a small white head and fair retention. Zero lacing. Spiced aroma. Spiced flavor too, mostly cinnamon, with a slightly tart apple finish. Tastes more like a cider versus a berliner. Easily the best berliner I've ever had. Actually drinkable. Light body. Low carbonation. Zero bitterness.

Pounder from Lone Star. Smushed printed date. Right out the luggage, an hour in the fringe & poured into a pint glass at home. Frothy oatmeal, darker than cola. Tea, light bright fruit, fresh dank & mellow spice nose. Bittersweet, light crusty char, tea tannins, initial dank dies back & becomes more like a fresh hop leafy green. Creamy but becomes thin, irritating carb, leaning off-dry. Very tasty.
