Description
The Genesee Brewing Company, based in Rochester, New York, is one of the largest and oldest continually operating breweries in the United States. It was founded by Mathius Kondolf, one of Rochester’s early entrepreneurs, after purchasing the Reisky & Spies Brewery (since 1857), changing its name to The Genesee Brewery.

The Genesee Brewing Company is since 2012 part of FIFCO USA, the largest independently owned beer company in the United States. With a focus on product quality, facility upgrades (including the relighting of the iconic Genesee Beer & Ale sign), conservation initiatives and employee safety, FIFCO USA has invested in the Genesee family of beers, its employees and the community.

In 2012 The Genessee Brew House was created to capture and share with you the long history of The Genesee Brewery - one of the largest and oldest continually operating breweries in America.

Pint can from TW-SP. Clear gold with no head, lots of bubbles. Aroma is pot, sickly sweet artificial fruit. Flavor is artificial, candied fruit, some green something - guess that's the hemp. Alcopop. Compost pour.

$4.04 pint can, TW-SP. Pours dark brown, almost black, with a small tan head. Wow, the aroma is surprisingly pleasant! Sweet caramel, chocolate, raisin, hazelnut. Flavor is very similar, though something artificial in there. Caramel, raisin, chocolate, cocoa, vanilla. If it wasn't for the artificial flavor, this would have an 8 for flavor... but it's obvious. Overall, still impressed, strangely.

Pours clear amber with a thin white head. Harsh Aroma. Taste is sweet and slightly acerbic. Palate has distinct notes that accompany a beer made with rice. Not terrible.
