The Genesee Brewing Company, based in Rochester, New York, is one of the largest and oldest continually operating breweries in the United States. It was founded by Mathius Kondolf, one of Rochester’s early entrepreneurs, after purchasing the Reisky & Spies Brewery (since 1857), changing its name to The Genesee Brewery.
The Genesee Brewing Company is since 2012 part of FIFCO USA, the largest independently owned beer company in the United States. With a focus on product quality, facility upgrades (including the relighting of the iconic Genesee Beer & Ale sign), conservation initiatives and employee safety, FIFCO USA has invested in the Genesee family of beers, its employees and the community.

Impulse ticker purchase at Aldi today. Bottle for 1$ pours clear pale with lots of bubbles. Typical mexy lager nose, some corn and such, but mild olfactory. First impression is that of a really bubbly mexican flavored brew, yes, plenty of cutting co2 in this, I like that cutting carbonating burn on the back of the throat! Taste is basic mexican lager, just a hint of non bitter citrus peel perhaps, like many other mexican brews; somebody squeezed a hint of lemon in there? Just asking. Yes, a very good yankee poser, by jenny! How about that? A new york based macro, making a fine mexican lager! Its gonna start another war. Yes, I'm not disappointed in this, I like civilized drinkable mexy lagers. There, you have it! Good job with this aldi/jenny effort. And it's cheap too!

Basic dull-as-dirt midcentury American macro lager. Corn and slight hints of grain and lemon with an empty finish and even emptier fade. It’s exactly what you think it is.

Scored sixer from aldi. It seems like its brewed by Genny under the Rock Wall name. Pours clear pale, not quite as dark as a real okty fest beer. Nose lacks any resemblance of fest as well. Yes, it has a kick to it, like many marzens, just not sure if this is really an oktoberfest marzen or a commercial version imitation. Goes down fairly easy, has ggod carbonation and its is quite enjoyable but it comes across more like a macro style cheap american lager. Will fool many initiated lager drinkers into thinking they are drinken a real oktoberfest. JMHO
