Description
Wicklow Wolf was established in late 2014 after the meeting of two likeminded friends with a common interest in good beer. Quincey Fennelly and Simon Lynch both fell in love with craft beer while living in California for many years. Setting up a brewery together was always inevitable.

0.44l can, courtesy of Elvis. Aroma of toasted malt, caramel, chocolate, dried fruit and vanilla. Pours pitch black color with medium sized soapy light brown head and average sparkling appearance. Taste starts with rich roasted malt, smooth oats and chocolate, follows by coffee, vanilla, dark fruit and ash, mouthfeel is smooth, while finish is mild bitter. Medium body, creamy texture and lively carbonation in palate. Wolf in a wolf’s clothing…

Panda thanks to Cloin. Near clear dark amber brown beer, a decent bubbly pale tan head. Light palate, a modest dryness, good fine minerally carbonation. Thin dark malts, a very thin dark malt creamy sweetness, trace of watery chocolate. Crisp cooling pine into light pleasant marmaladeish hops. Light finish. The foundation of a good CDA but, for me, annoyingly thin and watery.

Panda from Colin. Cheers. Slightly opaque amber. Foamy translucent white head. Aroma has soft fruit and hedgerow with a resinous edge and under malta. Medium bitter. More hedgerow and resin. Light-medium bodied. Slick. Soft-average carbonation. Long dry somewhat astringent finish. Enjoyable.
