Description
Twisted Barrel Ale exploded onto the Coventry beer scene on 29th March 2014.

After months of hard work developing a small selection of beers that would appeal to Coventry's patrons thirsting for our unique mix of modern and classical styles and methods we launched our beers at Coventry's number 1 bottle bar, Inspire, and it was a huge success. Originally brewing on a 60 litre kit, we described ourselves as 'the UK's first Pico-brewery'.

20th June 2015 and we held another launch. This time in our brand new Brewery and Tap House at FarGo Village. With a new 1000 litre brewing kit and an entirely new brand design from Stewart Easton, we've finally become the brewery we always set out to be. Almost 2 years later we transferred our bar and brewing kit into a space about 5 times larger than before, we're still serving the best beer at FarGo Village.

Keg draught at Sommar Leicester. Light gold, hazy with a microscopic film of white head. Aroma is muted with notes of melon, white grapefruit and banana. Taste is not what I expected: bittersweet with an almost smoky character. Long dry finish which favours the bitterness. Odd as hell but ultimately enjoyable

Keg @ Tilt, Birmingham in the company of John, Rich and Craig. Dull hazed yellow appearance with a white head. Pale malt aroma, light floral citrus. Taste is a little odd, something definitely seems amiss here, herbal weedy, woody notes that jars somewhat. Would have to try again.

Keg draught at the Two-Tailed Lion, Leicester. This is very dark brown, only a little bit translucent, with a tiny khaki/tan head. Scent of salted caramel comes through in a big way, with light notes of vanilla and coffee grounds. Sweet taste with lots more caramel, and a bitter hoppy character on the tongue before the finish, followwd by more salted caramel in the aftertaste. Medium body for the ABV and carbonation on the light side. Does what it says on the tin extremely well.

Keg at the Two-Tailed Lion, Leicester. Light to mid-yellow gold and hazy with a fairly big white head. Big berry aroma, some light citrus. Taste is surprisingly malt-heavy with notes of vanilla added to the intensity of the hop. Gorgeous little balance going on. Lighter hop bitterness on balance, with tangerine pulp in the finish. Medium carbonation. Decent.
