Cask handpull at Wenlock Arms. Chestnut beer with thick lasting off white head. Nich rich malts, some choc and toffee and good green hop aroma. Finish has more slightly acidic hop to blance the rich malts, but it doesn’t quite pull it off. Finish is too astringent on the back of the choc malts. You are expecting a warming dark malty bitter and then are hit with this hop astringency. Needs refinement

500ml bottle from Cheriton Tesco. Orange/gold colour with thin off white head. Spice, hop, citrus aromas. Hops are green and fresh. Bit of tangerine. OK in mouth with zingy hoppy finish with more tangerine/orange. Nice enough beer.

Cask (gravity dispense), St Albans Beer Festival 2005. Dark ruby colour with good spicey caramel and smooth in the mouth. Really quite like it, but not a lot of coriander, definite spicey edge with a bit of bacon?

Handpull cask at Humphrey Bean JDW Tonbridge, Kent. Dark brown bitter with goodish malt and hops but there was an underlying taste that I did not like

[Cask at GBBF 2004] An opaque brown beer with a fine brown head. The aroma is sweet with notes of caramel, while the flavor primarily is a sour (due to lack of alcohol) mil flavor with a roasted bitter end.

Cask. Yellowish golden, not much head, but the head is foamy and longlasting. Citric aroma with hints of malt and a bit hops. Very smooth fruitish semi-bitter hoppy flavour. Also a bit soapish. A bit more carbonation would be nice.

Dark beer with a light aroma with a hint of coriander. The flavour is hopped with a quite weak finish. Overall a nice lightly hopped beer.
