Half-pint, cask at Barley Mow in Leicester. Filmy layer over a crystal clear amber coloured body. Dotted spots on the glass. Mild caramel nose, distant notes of dusty hops. Moderate flavours of caramel and dried fruits. Distant bittersweet endnotes. Clean in the mouth. Fair enough. (11.02.2019).

500ml bottle [thanks to Grumbo for blueing another piece of the England map!]. Clear copper colour with small, creamy, off-white layer. Herbal-fruity hoppy and minimally bready-spicy malty aroma, hints of red berries, a touch of mistletoe or so. Taste is slightly dry, fruity hoppy, leafy, earthy, herbal, and bready-spicy malty, hints of red berries, red currant parings, tobacco; light, minimally watery. Underwhelming.

ABV: 4.4%. Clear medium to dark brown amber colour with a average, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, dark malt, caramel, laber larver, candy, sweet cherry, cherry. Flavor is moderate sweet with a long duration, sweet cherry, cherry stone, candy, sweet malt, caramel. To me, quit odd ! Body is medium, texture is oily to watery, carbonation is soft to flat. [20181019]

Cask @ Nottingham Beer Festival. Nice head with good duration. Color is dark brown. Aroma and taste are caramel, fruits, berries, malt and hops. Fruity finish.

Cask @ Nottingham Beer and Cider Festival. Clear dark brown with a beige head. Aroma is sweet, roasted malt, cheap strawberry ice cream and a little star anise. Flavor is medium sweet and light bitter. Sweet and light bitter finish. 191018

Bottle at home. I have no idea how many gallons of this I drank during my 3 years at Leicester University, but as a beer it didn't stick in my mind. Having a bottle on Saturday evening explains why, as it had very little flavour. There was some malt with bitter hops and that was about it. It was quite watery, but that is not a positive.

Handpull cask at the Marquis of Wellington, Leicester. Hazy mid- to dark gold with a little bit of white head and a lot of lacing. Lemon peel, guava and a whiff of ammonia on the nose. Bittersweet taste with gentle tropical fruit hops on the finish... some papaya and pineapple, a little TCP, lemon curd. Oily body. Of course it isn't what it says it is but it's still pretty good.

Handpull cask at the Old Horse, Leicester. Amber/brown and clear as a bell with almost no head, just a white ring around the glass. Caramel, tayberry, and a tannic note in the aroma. Clean bittersweet taste with some leafy hop in the finish. Flat body, slightly oily. More berry in the aftertaste. Decent but not overly spectacular.
