Clear orange color, short creamy off-white head. Quite typical bitter features. Aroma of some caramel malts and some english hops. Dominant though soft bitter taste and palate.

[Cask at GBBF 2003] An amber beer with a beutiful head. The aroma is very faint malty with notes of fruit. The flavor is smooth and malty from a good malt blend. It ends on a slightly bitterness. A very creamy beer even though it was cask.

Sampled cask conditioned at Oliver Twist, Stockholm, Sweden.
Orange-golden. Sulphury and lightly flowery aroma. Light bodied with superb softly maltiness and slight fruitiness. Very soft mouthfeel and with balanced bitter finish. An excellent traditional bitter.

Amber; light, vaguely caramelly, touch of wood. It seems the most popular English ales are always the blandish, malt-accented ones. To each his own I guess.

Had about 6 pints of this in the Victory, Welford Road, before City vs Manure in the League cup, 27/11/96 (2-0 City).
They were trying to get rid of the cask so it was a bargainous £1 a pint.
Dark, malty, strong, fruit cake with a good boost for this era.
When (a young) Scholes missed his penalty in the first half I fell over in the Kop during the surge and with the help of Daredevil couldn't get up and lay there for a minute giggling till a few lads dragged me up.
Happy days!
