Courtesy of Gillard. First Bridgeport rating for me, wow, I’ve been drinking their beers for years. Pours deep copper with tan head. The aroma is caramel, 90L crystal malts, some roasty malts, very faint dark fruity esters and growing alcohol heat. The taste feels a bit creamy and ushers in roasty 90L like crystal malts mixed with caramel and some pine hop bitterness that leans toward grassy. The alcohol begins to grow and starts to become distracting. I get zero barrel agedness in this beer even though the label clearly states it.

Bottle. Pours a cloudy dark amber color with a medium creamy light tan head. Not too much on the nose but light caramel. Sticky lacing on the glass. The taste is a malty with a bitter finish. A good English Strong Ale from Bridgeport.

Bottle. Poured deep mahogany colour with a foamy off white head. Much lacing. Aroma of resin, caramel, and oak. Full resinous, malty flavour. Disguised alcohol strength with a malty strong finish. Sip this.

A freebee for the cheapster. Sweet and almost fruity perfumy aroma. Nice cloudy darkish beige color. Swirling hypnotizing pour, from the gunk on the bottom of this bottle. Rocky head. Bitter preservative taste, difficult on the enjoyability scale for me, but certainly within the style. Has some decent carbonation that comes across as malty at times on the palate. Finish is bitter hoppy preservative medicine.

Deep brown with medium tan head. Roasted malts, molasses, milky, oats, and dark fruits. Body is a bit thin, and a fair amount of carbonation. Flavor is much like the aroma. Finish is full of the dark fruits and light bittersweet. Alright stout, but not much going on.
