355ml can at Sydney Cidery bar. Pale reddish golden colour, short-lived white foam head and aroma of apple, red fruit. Taste is sweet, berry notes, appley, red fruity, hedgerow, woody hints, with some tart acidity. Medium bodied, spritzy carbonation, drying fruity acidic finish. Quite drinkable.

355ml can from Carwyn Cellars, for #rgpm. Pale yellowy gold colour, short-lived white foam head and aroma of pear, fruit, wood, sour funk note. Taste is sweet, peary, floral, alittle wood, funk with light acidity and tannin. Medium bodied, light carbonation, drying peary finish with funky hint. Quite drinkable.

Yellow, sparkling. Slightly funky aroma with fleshy apple, some skins, maybe a hint of oak. A fair way off dry with a bit of body that's usually lacking from most ciders around this strength. No acidity but there is a touch of wood at the end.

330ml bottle from Dan Murphys, Hurstville. Pale yellow straw colour, short-lived fizzy white foam head and green apple aroma. Taste is sweetish fleshy apple, green apple, some apple core, white wine notes and drying acidity. Light bodied, spritzy carbonation, dry tart finish. OK.

330ml bottle into shaker. Hazy golden amber beer with light carbonation and large frothy white head. Nose is marmalade with some background doughy malt. Flat mouthfeel with a light body. Taste is slightly bitter, finish starts with cashews then turns earthy and bitter. Lingering aspirin completes it. Not bad, could be a touch more fruity.

Pint on tap at The Catfish. Pale green/yellow cider with no head. Zero carbonation. Full-bodied, slight zing. Finish is sour/tangy apple with umami. Good ’old school’ cider, like scrumpy without the ABV.

Pours hazy gold, large head.Nose shows doughy wheat, slight spicy phenols, light banana.Flavours include grainy and doughy wheat, light peppery notes and a slight metallic character.

Pours amber with a small head.Nose shows caramel, grassy hops and very soft smoked malt.Flavours include a bit more smoked malt as well as more grassy and spicy hops. Some biscuity malt later.

Pours amber with a small head.Nose shows nutty and toast malt, caramel and a weird mouldy note.Flavours include some nutty and toasty notes but it’s spoilt by a cooked corn, cereal and cardboard character.
