A very nice IPA. As advertised on the label - grapefruit, papaya, lime and pine. A little honey and biscuit as well. Well balanced and juicy and with nice length. Picked up at Crown Cellars bottle shop in Launceston (they have an incredible range of Tassie beers).

(Can) Pours clear amber with good off white head. Lovely fruity aroma with hints of bread. Medium body with nice bright carbonation. Good taste. Nice fruity start. Some gentle caramel sweetness joins in and then steadily hoppy bitterness takes over. Very nice.

From a 440ml can on 11/3/2020. Pours an opaque deep amber with a smallish head that disappears quickly. The nose presents with sweet malt and a good whiff of booze. Tastes of sweet caramel and toffee up front, with a little dark fruit, which is met by a firm very resiny, lingering bitterness, with lots of cognac in the background. It's a big, boozy beast, with the 11.1% no surprise. The palate is slick and syrupy, the carbonation softish. A complex, boozy sipper which comes together quite nicely, but not for the faint hearted.

From a 440ml can on 27/2/2020. Pours a very dark brown with teh barest of heads. Has an unusual sharp aroma, with some oak in the mix. The flavour features milk chocolate and a bit of caramel, plums and a bit of soy, some roasty notes, again with some oak at the back. The bitterness is quite sharp and dry. Slightly over-carbed with a slick mouthfeel. It maintain some interest flavour wise, but a bit rough and uncultured when the whole package is considered.

Very nice-looking can. Dark brown with a light tan head. Aroma of brooding mocha and roast, prunes, oaky shiraz. Pretty much how it tastes. Medium bodied, lowish carbonation. Torn on the palate a bit - it's drier than I'd have guessed with prominent oak that grips fairly early - on the one had I like the flavours and nothing really dominates; on the other it means it lacks a bit of richness and detracts from the depth. Alcohol completely hidden. Very good.

Bottle. Amber with a 3/2 white head that lasts OK. 3+ Aroma of bread, caramel, stewed fruit, grapefruit, pine. Full bodied and hearty for 6%. Sweet bread crust and toffee initially but strong resin and some spice sweeps it away at a rollicking bitter end. Old fashioned but good.

On tap at The Whaler. Pours a clear red with a cranberry hue and a white head that dissipates to the edges. Aroma has earthy wheat and straw with a hint of tart blackberry underlying. Flavor is mild with wheat, light straw and just a hint of blackberry.

Bottle. Dark brown with a huge light tan head that collapses. Aroma of mocha, dark sugars, grass. A taste reveals some licorice too. Some initial sweetness is nagged away towards the dry end. Plain and not really my sort of thing, but OK.
