Test vom 30.11.2006, Gebinde: Glasflasche Noten: 7,9,9,10,12,10 - 9,50

(33cl bottle) Clear, golden colour with a medium-sized foamy white head. Dusty, sweet malty, slightly grainy aroma, also a bit perfumed flowery. Sweet, honeyish fruity malty taste, medium to full bodied, medium to crispy carbonation; moderately sweet malty finish with light notes of alcohol and even a whiff of hops. Unspectacular but drinkable and not too sweet.

(bottle) Clear, pale golden colour with a slowly lacing foamy white medium head. Dusty, slightly sweet malty aroma, strawy with a whiff of herbal hops. Light bitter flavour, quite slim bodied according to the abv of 5.5%, soft carbonation. Pale malt accented, a bit flat taste with a shy herbal touch; dry and light bitter finish. Clean but very boring, lacks character.

Bottle: Hazy, yellow, mid-sized lacing white head; faint sweet-malty and almost fruity (apples) nose, a bit sourish with some bitterness in the wings; quite sweetish (a bit like sweetened by artificial sweeteners) flavour, soft MF, sweetish fruity (apples again) finish with the faintest hint of "yeasty" tartness in the aftertaste. Drinkable, but lightyears away from a real rural franconian Kellerbier...........

(bottle) Slightly hazy, pale golden colour with a big and persistent white foamy head. Sweet and slightly sourish malty nose with a strong yeasty note but a faint banana-like fruitiness. Sweet and slightly sour flavour; light to medium bodied with a smooth carbonation. Strong yeasty and malty taste with restrained fruit- and wheat-character; slim and rather short finish with traces of bitter hops and light clovy notes.
