Description
Ronald started working as a brewer in 1990, at brewery De Raaf. Few years later he lefts the Netherlands for Finland. He stayed in the beer business in various roles, and after a short break, he returned in 2015 to start The Flying Dutchman Nomad Brewing Company, to brew his own recipes at de Proefbrouwerij and Brouwerij Anders. He brews out of love for beer, and only works with the best and most passionate people. That’s why his beers are exceptional – full of character and flavour.

330ml bottle. Opaque, darkest brown colour with minimally late awakening, average to huge, dense, creamy, moderately lasting and lacing, beige head. Aroma has the typical "fishy" effect raspberry and chocolate can produce in a beer; tart-ish raspberry and some milk chocolate really smell like crab shells, weak liquorice overtones. Taste exhibits the same effect in an even more disgusting mode, a soapy touch on top, chocolately basis shines through once in a while.
Creamy-watery texture, minimally astringent palate, medium to fine, dense, mildly prickly carbonation.
Doesn't work for me.

330ml bottle. Slightly cloudy, amber colour with average to huge, firm, frothy, moderately lasting, minimally lacing, pale sulphureous head. Mellow malty and slightly earthy, leafy, fruity hoppy aroma, hints of red berries, corresponding shrubs, a touch of orange, whiffs of garlic and raspberry. Taste is minimally toasty, bready, mellow malty with low residual sweetness, slightly dry and bitter, earthy, leafy, fruity hoppy, minimally tart-ish, slightly diluted hints of red berries, corresponding shrubs, a minimally sugary touch.
Watery texture, dry palate, medium to coarse, lively carbonation.
Okay-ish composition, but rather watery and quite overcarbonated - acceptable.

330ml bottle from the Pup & Duckling, Solihull. Poured a mostly clear dark brown colour with a lasting frothy tan head. The aroma is roasty, creamy caramel. The flavour is moderate sweet and liquorice bitter, with a smooth, rich, roasty, chocolate, aromatic, herbal, light warm boozy, light grassy, light vanilla, liquorice bitter palate. Over medium bodied with soft carbonation.

25/X/25 - 33cl bottle, bought and shared @ kelderschatten tasting by Gentse Biervereniging (Baracuna), BB: 6/IX/24 (2025-1069)
Clear orange amber beer, small creamy off-white head, a little stable, a bit adhesive. Aroma: nice at first, fruity, red fruits, then some diacetyl kicks in, yoghurt, red currants, more diacetyl, nope, not good. MF: ok carbon, medium body. Taste: very sourish, lots of yoghurt, red currants, somewhat floral, hibiscus indeed, meh. Aftertaste: lots of diacetyl, yoghurt, pretty bitter touch, very dry, acidic finish. Bleh.

25 October 2025. At “Gentse Biervereniging Kelderschatten” (Baracuna). Cheers to the whole crew!
Butter, rosehip, hibiscus, white tea. Sour raspberry & rosehip, slightly bitter tea, touch of yoghurt, butter again. Bit tart, quite buttery finish. Watery texture. This needs polishing!
