A nice reddish amber ale with a thin white head. A classy C-hops aroma, piny, floral and enjoyable. A crisp biscuitty malt with restrained c-hops, lots of citrus, grapefruits. Medium bodied. On tap at brewpub August 2007.

A translucent with, yellowish with a thin lacing white head. A very classy aroma of cloves, with nice peppery notes. In mouth, this wit is fresh, crisp, with light Brett notes. Medium bodied. On tap at brewpub August 2007.

A golden ale with a thin white head. A light grainy malt aroma. In mouth, a crisp grainy malt, rich, light hops, good bodied and refreshing. On tap at brewpub, August 2007.

Deep tan to reddish-cream-brown head over deep brown beer with orange reflections. Very vinous, Bourbon nose, rich, Sachertorte, points of coffee and cacaopowder, leather. Very complex and fruity. Dry, alcoholic Bourbon or rum flavour; rather sharp. Again dark fruit, covered in black chocolate. Very faraway cake sweetness or molasses; both burnt and hoppy. Very full-bodied, sharply alcoholic, slightly burning, viscuous. Quite good Imperial Stout, from Todd’s fledgling brewery.

Marks are a fusion of two ratings: one on draught, one bottled. Little yellowish head, gone in secs, over orange-copper beer, visibly well-carbonated. Citrussy notes, some exotic fruit and alcohol on the draught version; bottled is less fruity, drier with some sugar and a cheesy aroma. The draught version is almost too fruity in taste, as well as sweet (melon, tangerine). The bottled version is again less fruity, if not less sweet: cake bottom, caramel and some exotic spice; whilst the draught carries proof of a strange sugar (maybe the sage honey). The beer is medium to well-bodied, but especially the draught one I thought not well-attenuated enough. I get, once more, impression of high fermentation temperatures. Todd, you of all people wouldn’t go for the caricature of the Belgian, no?

Draft. Rich runy amber beer with a light tan head. Brown sugar, earthy aroma. Slight buttery, caramel, and light hop flavor. Medium body. lingering buttery popcorn and caramel. I didn’t see much summit hops in this one. The buttery flavor didn’t really detract as it wan’t overpowering, but I think it took away from the hops.
