Born in the heart of the prestigious AOP Patrimonio vineyard in a family of winegrowers, Ribella beers are aptly named. But far from feeling overwhelmed by this unprecedented geographical position, Pierre-François Maestracci, the founder of the brand, made it his mission to make his beers as rich and complex as the good wines that surrounded him. A successful bet, if we are to believe the excellent reputation enjoyed by Ribella beers!
A hops farm on hillsides, located near the brewery, benefits from the sea spray from Cap Corse and clay-limestone soil which characterizes Ribella hops and gives the beers a unique aromatic profile. The brewery also has a farm where malt barley and most of the spices, peppers, citrus fruits or flowers that go into the composition of beers are grown, brewed without any artificial flavor.

Stable, frothy off-white head over hazy ochre-golden beer; rings of lace. Clementinepeel a mile out, acquiring a peculiar, surprising whisky aroma, not at all disturbing. Dry to very dry, straw and mild tangerinepeel. Dry, again the clementinepeel, but instead of whisky, the flavour now becoming coffee/mocha-like. Very surprising flavour, which intensifies warming up. Light body, bit slick; medium carbonation. Surprisingly original - and all the better for it, + 1 point. Thanks to Stef!
