Description
Evil Twin Brewing was started up “nomadically” in 2010 by Jeppe Jarnit- Bjergso. In 2012, Jeppe and his family decided to make New York City their home and join the burgeoning local beer scene. In 2016, Jeppe was approached with the opportunity to finally root his ideas & dreams and Evil Twin Brewing NYC was born.
At Evil Twin Brewing NYC we wanted to expand upon the traditions of innovation & further it with the intimacy of a local neighborhood microbrewery. With more control over our recipes, we are able to experiment on new flavors while perfecting the classics.
Collaboration is a huge part of Evil Twin Brewing NYC & we are excited to be able to host & collaborate with all the amazing brewers in NYC and throughout the world within our very own home base! We strive to be a community space for all of Ridgewood and Queens and our goal is that our brewery and taproom becomes a place for locals and beer tourists alike.
Our Queens brewery has been a long time coming & we are thrilled to have a home where our families, friends, and neighbors have a place to share our love for great beer, food & culture with the Ridgewood community, NYC, & the world!

16oz can from Tavour. Hazy yellow pour, thin foamy white cap. Aptly named brew, milk notes all over this beer. Aroma is vanilla ice cream. Taste brings a touch of citrus, grapefruit to the vanilla. Creamy feel. Delightful and tasty. I could drink this for the rest of my life.

Canned 2/27/25, drunk 4/18/25.
Clear, bright brass-golden. Large, well-retained, white head.
Rich oak and bright, fresh herbs from the hops mix with dainty honey malts. Clean, snappy, not bogged down by oak or malt.
Richly-malted with good honey, biscuit, and light bread-like notes from the well-attenuated malts. Herbal hops but not overdone or in your face, leaving a light, balancing, peppery bitterness in their wake. Oak not as apparent in flavor, mostly just a structured wood tannin bolstering the body with some light butter/toast. Clean, crisp, flavorful, balanced. Well, damn, I'm impressed!

Canned 1/30/2025, drunk 4/13/2025.
Very carbonated, clear, dark liquid. Not intensely viscous. Medium-tan head is massive, well-retained on account of such high carbonation.
Earthy chocolate/cacao with roasty stout and not all that much barrel, especially considering the aging time and that it's Willett. Just a bit of perfumey spice towards the end. That said, it's mellow, aromatic, with no booze and zero aggressive notes.
Rich and malty with deep, caramel-forward malts. Still some punchy/raw sugar character, though and, again as with the nose, not that much barrel character. Why would you age a stout for nearly 36 months in such nice barrels and then backblend it with a fresh barleywine???! I guess so that you make more of it? Sad, because you get way too much raw sugar from the barleywine and the barrel is basically lost to it. Tasteful adjuncts, good body, not TOO sweet and not boozey, but tastes more like a fresh barleywine than a BA beer.

Draft at Maloney's, 4/5/25. Dark brown pour with a foamy light brown head. Roasty, chocolate, earth, and grains. Full of flavor. A touch sweet, rather roasty. Soft and smooth feel. Really good overall.

16 oz. can, pours jet black with a medium tan head. Aroma is loaded with peppermint, maybe a hint of white chocolate, and a robust roasted malt base. Flavour is much the same, with a less overpowering than expected peppermint character, hearty roasted malt, and a dash of espresso. Finishes with a beautiful peppermint character, low sweetness, and just enough roastiness. Way exceeded my expectations.

Pint cann from Total Wine Appleton, 4/2/25. Slightly hazy orange, medium off-white head, average retention. Aroma of bready malt, candi sugar, orange peel, spice. Taste is bubblegum, bready malt, citrus, stone fruit, mild spice. I wish the ginger was more present but some mild ginger spice does hit the sides of the tongue for a second. Solid and booze well hidden.
