473mL can. Pours murky gold with foamy white head. Bubblegum sweetness on the nose is dialed in by a restrained malty character. Flavour has chewy bubblegum, sweetbread; lingering bitter finish to the sweets. Definitely a bit better dialed in than the blonde version, but still pretty half-assed.

473mL can. Pours murky dull gold with a white head. Bubblegum esters and sugary caramel on the nose. Flavour has bubblegum, burnt caramel, and dry wood. The nose is a bit fucked, but the flavour profile is almost okay. It's the bubblegum that kills the flavour unfortunately. Disappointing

Bottle, Legacy. Looks quite dark for a pale ale, like a light brown/amber. The head is thin and bubble. The aroma is earthy, fairly chewy. There’s a lot of malt here, and I wouldn’t surprised if wet hops from Texada - didn’t know there was a hop farm there, cool - are mild. The taste is malt-forward, with chewy, toasty malts, a bit of biscuit, and even some richer caramelized sugars. The hops are woody, apparent in some bitterness, but not overly strong there, and hardly registering at all in the aroma/taste side of things. The finish is mostly sweeter, chewier malts and a bit of woodiness, along with a vague sense of lingering bitterness. A good amber ale, more or less, with more hop than that description might normally imply.

473mL can, pours black with a small light brown head. Nose is full of dry espresso and dusty cocoa nibs in good complementarity. Flavour is on the dry side, with plenty of dry cocoa nibs, medium espresso roast, and some earthiness. Labeled a dessert stout, but it really does not come across that way, at least compared to all the pastry stouts out there these days. This is just a nice dry, medium roast stout complemented by a bit of coffee and cocoa. Good.

Updated April 2025: 473 ml can. Pours a dark reddish brown with moderate head. Aromas of candi sugar, raisins, copper, and toasted malts. Flavors of coppery mineral water, raisins and toasted malts. Harsh . Seems typical of a North American attempt at a Belgian, overly metallic and missing both depth and complexity.
