12oz bottle-pours a thin off white head and yellow/gold color. aroma is sweet grain/medium malt, secondary fruity hops. taste is grain/medium malt, secondary fruity/herbal hops, musty, not clean. Finishes medicinal/cardboard. it’s a shame they stopped brewing but still put out beer near their closing.

Bottled@The Chriso Gaylord Tasting. Golden colour, small white head. Aroma is quite dry pilsish (a.k.a. bready malts, some grassy and hayish notes along with some slight saltwatery notes). Flavour being much the same.

September 2009 Beer of the Month Club , 11/8/09
Aroma: Smells of mostly yeasty malts and some earth like notes
Appearance: A clear dark orange color with a fizzy off-white head (mild retention)
Flavor: Somewhat balanced flavor, leaning more toward the malty side
Palate: It has a nice mouthfeel, medium dryness, mildly thin and highly smooth
Overall Impression: This makes for a decent beer, nothing super exciting, but it hits the mark for a drinkable and simple session brew. If you are looking for something with a lot of complexity, this is not the right beer, but what it is trying to be it does a pretty solid job.

This one came in my beer club. Sampled from a 12 oz brown bottle this beer poured a very dark brown with a small beige head. The aroma was tangy, bitter and toasty with a faint undertone of vanilla. The flavor was bitter, roasty, dry and gritty with a hint of malted milk. Rather one dimensional. Medium length finish, medium body. Ok.
